can i have a killer 2 channel AND HT setup at once

i have just signed the contract to buy a new home with a 15 by 30 ft. living room, with 9 ft. ceilings. i currently have a 2 channel setup, primary components being a mcintosh MC352 amp, c39 preamp, sony dvp-ns900 CD/DVD, sonus faber grand piano speakers, richard gray 1200, 10' cardas golden cross speaker wire and a mix of hi-end I/C's...also i have a panasonic 42" PWD5wy plasma TV

there is a fireplace in the center of the 30' wall, and i'd like to place the plasma above the fireplace.

my perfect world scenario would be to place the SF speakers on each corner of the short wall (12' apart) and ALSO buy a set of speakers for the HT setup to place on each side of the fireplace, with the center placed on the fireplace mantel, and the rear's placed on the wall behind the sofa.

can i either use any of what i have, or trade it out, so that i am able to listen to 2 channel sound thru the SF's, but then switch to a 5 channel output to watch movies? are there amps/preamps that allow this? i'm just trying to avoid having 2 separate systems running to accomplish this.

sorry for the long winded explanation, and thanks in advance for the help!!!

It is feasible to branch them without losing the integriy of the 2ch..Atleas that is my aim.

To use a Passive pre-amp with a 2\ch. and 5ch. amp to be used for the center and surrounds. That leaves the main amp to only do the duties you desire for the Main speaker's.You add a SS Processor and use that through the tape loop of the Passive.

I have a Lexicon CP-3 Pro which might not have AX-3,but then again I am not into this for Movies.

I am waiting on my Main speaker's(being built}and CC speaker then I shall set it all up.
If there are any options or I am missing something please inform me.

The answer to the question is yes. Here's an example to keep your 2ch. seperate from your HT playback.Does not have AC-3,but that I could live witout do to the cost.
