Audio Research IR input

Hoping another owner can help me out. Trying to use a remote IR sensor on a REF 6 and can’t get it working. Is there anything specific that needs to be done to recognize the sensor? Tried support at ARC and have not heard back. Thanks in advance.

Nothing specific needed, just plug the mini-plug into the IR input. Something like this should work fine:

There are more expensive alternatives from Crutchfield, though I'm not sure why they are so much more.

I'm doubtful about the necessity of a mono mini plug.  A "stereo" mini works fine for the 12V trigger so should work fine for IR.
