Art Audio VPS-DM vs. ModWright SWL 9.0 SE

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare these? In my current setup, I have the MW SWL 9.0 SE paired with Art Audio Concerto Pro Tube Monoblocks. I may be able to pick up the AA VPS at a decent price. Would the AA VPS-DM be a better match with these amps than the MW? A couple of reviews of the AA VPS linestage mention a weakness in bass control and transparency, but there is not much feedback out there.
