APL Denon 3910 - Anybody still using this?

I bought such a player back in 2007, enjoyed it for some years but then tried other DACs, now running with Lampizator. I am thinking to pass this player onto a friend who would like to use it straight into the amp. My unit has the volume control with the Sony remote control. I preferred the sound into the preamp but the remote volume is a very cool feature. I have since forgotten how to engage the volume control vs. having it set constant to run into a like stage.
Can anyone provide the steps, button sequence, etc., to press on the Remote Control and the switch on back of the player, to engage the player's remote volume control.
