Rottenclam, if those were the pair from N. California you got a nice deal on them. I was thinking about adding them as rears to my system but didn't act quick enough.
If you want to see the "Mighty Oaks" check out my system. These big boys really are the last word in bass, under the control of a Crown K2, and give an incredibly neutral and flat tonal balance which I confirmed by in-room measurements. Not sure how well the subs would integrate with the mains using the ancient DQ-LP1 provided with the system, but the TacT RCS 2.2X does a perfect job in both the frequency and time domains.
