Amplifier trigger question

Here's a question I was hoping someone could help me with. I have an ML 390s that I'd like to connect directly to an amp for a 2-channel system. The 390s has it's own volume control so no problem there.

However, the only control output the player offers is the proprietary Levinson link. As far as I can tell, you can only use this to connect to other ML components. My question is how can I alternatively power trigger an amp I if I don't go with an ML amp?

I know there are some amps with IR remotes or sub-like auto on capabilities (they come out of standby when detecting the presence of a signal at one of their inputs). If the amp I want only has a standard 12V mini-jack trigger, I am trying to figure out another option. Most likely, the amp will be in a rack or hidden and that's why it's an issue for me.

Thanks in advance.

I think a lot of the folks may just recommend leaving the amps on if they are solid state. I have tube amps where that is out of the question, however, and I use a PS Audio Power Director, which has both a 12V trigger and a IR interface--you might look into remote IR repeater devices if you want to go IR.
