Advice on Ortofon RS 309D tonearm 12-in

Can you guys advise me on the Ortofon RS 309D 12" tonearm? Regarding ease of use/set-up, sonic characteristics compared to other 12" arms (i.e. SME 312S, Brinkmann, Kuzma, etc.)... I plan on going w/ either a Garrard 301 or Nottingham. Thank you!
