Hey Jim. I'm also a big Audio Physic fan and I did get to try out the Paduas about 2 years ago. They are remarkable speakers but very fussy about their positioning, more so than other Audio Physic speakers I have tried out in the past. The dealer and I spend about two hours trying to find a decent position, (ending up almost in the middle of the room!) and even then they could not really express their many virtues. They hate being anywhere near walls and they show it. They also have a 4 ohm nominal impedance that is fairly power hungry. So, unless you have tons of space I think the very musical Adagios might be a more easy prospect to live with.
Acoustic Zen Adagios or Audio Physic Padua??
I have an opportunity of getting a good deal on either of these two speaker systems. I have always been a big fan of the Audio Physic Virgo I's which I have heard several times but did not have the money to buy them, even used. I have never heard the AP Padua's nor the Acoustic Zen Adagio's. I was going to upgrade my current speakers with Epos 16i's, but decided to spend more money, realizing how revealing quality hi-end speakers can be. I owned B&W Matrix II's speakers for 15 years then sold them about 5 years ago when I began downsizing my system. This began the lower level speaker "merry go round". My system currently is driven by a Creek SE5350 integrated amp, Rega Apollo CD player and a Rega P3-24 with a Dynavector 10X5. Speaker cables are Analysis Plus Oval 12 which probably need to be upgraded. All comments and opinions welcomed. Thank you, Jim
