A/B comparison McIntosh MC275 MK IV vs. MC275 MK VI
I've owned both the IV and the LE (50th anniversary Mc275, virtually identical to the VI except for cosmetics).  The LE and IV have the same basic character, but the LE has deeper and tighter bass as well as more extended, cleaner high frequencies...
Jazz LP Review: Lyn Stanley's The Moonlight Sessions Vol.1
NSP, Patricia Barber is a favorite of mine.  She doesn't have a voice that I would call beautiful, but she is very expressive and she works around the beat as well as with it.  Of the classic jazz vocalists, my favs are Ella and Billie.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
I worship at both alters (MM and MC) when it comes to phono cartridges.  In my vintage system, I swear by the Shure V15 IV and V carts mounted on a Grace 707 arm.  The TT is either a Denon DP1250 or Technics SP25.  They sound wonderful played thro...

Sumiko Blackbird MC vs. Clearaudio Maestro Wood MM
I have owned both the Blackbird and the Maestro Wood (v1) and preferred the Maestro by a wide margin. The 'bird was only ordinary, about on-par with the Dynavector 10x5 HOMC. The Maestro, on the other hand, was more dynamic, more detailed, and bet...
Dyna XX-2 MKII vs. Lyra Kleos
Captain,I went from the XX2 Mk2 to the Kleos on my VPI HRX. I found that I preferred the kleos. While certainly no slouch, the Dyna was not a dynamic as the Kelos, nor as detailed. Where the two carts were very similar was in midrange and vocal ti...
