Avantgarde Duo Omega- nothing has ever effected me emotionally the way that speaker did...just be ready to hear something that doesn't sound like a speaker. 
Who makes speakers with relaxed high freq.?
If I could make a suggestion; if your room is bright as you suggest due to highly refelctive surfaces, I would suggest looking for a speaker that has less dispersion, therefore avoiding the bounce in the first place. You might look into a ZU Druid... 
Do you know of small speakers that sound ''BIG'' ?
I would suggestthe relatively small but very LARGE soundind ZU Tone.
