Building high-end 'tables cheap at Home Despot II
Hey Billybuck depending on the quality of the rubber on your idler wheel sometimes a very light sanding with a fine grade sandpaper helps in addition to replacing the steel spring for the idler wheel with a rubber band. You can vary the tension on...
Best sounding cd in your collection
The Original Jazz Masters Series Vol. 1 thru 5, 5 CD's per Volume. These are 50's, 60's, and a few 70's jazz recording issued on CD from 1993 to 1995 by Black Lion records. Great performances of course but the sound is a real surprise.

Goughary I own a ATP-12T and use it with a Denon Dl-103. Its a 12" arm and cannot be used in the stock Lenco L-75 mount hole; I don't know about the Lenco L-70 but I would doubt they were built stock for 12" arms. I built my Lenco plinth wide enou...

The Klipsch Heresy is not fully horn loaded because the 12" woofer operates as a direct radiator but the tweeter and midrange use horn loaded compression drivers resulting in a 97db efficiency.

Hey Jean, it was great reading of your experiences with a horn based loudspeaker system. I wondered when you would finally get around to it, persistant experimenter that you are. When I reported two years ago how my newly aquired Lenco easily best...
Well Tempered lab
Try turntablebasics.com and ask for the silicon damping fluid with a rating of 300,000 cst. I owned a well tempered for many years and the viscoscity of the 300,000 cst product is similar to the original well tempered arm damping fluid. The degree...
Analog point of entry...
If you want something audiophile approved you will probably end up spending $2000 minimum. Thats going with a $1000 table and arm combo plus another $1000 for cartridge and phono stage. The well tempered is a good suggestion if you go this route. ...
Stupid Question-What's the best way to choose?
Jeffmazen don't fall for the cable game. They are minor tone controls, what you have is fine. If you really want to balance your system tonally consider a digital eq. They are reasonably priced now{behringer deq2496 is $300}and will do more for yo...
Behringer DEQ 2496
Ecruz I would recommend 2 male and 2 female in case you ever want to connect analog inputs. Also another female for a digital out if you want to connect to an external DAC. The female converters have holes the males have prongs.
Behringer DEQ 2496
I agree with Warnerwh the deq 2496 is an incredible product. Great value and does so many things. I've been playing with it for only a week and I've just scratched the surface of its capabilities. I'm a hard core vinyl guy but with this thing CD's...
What tt 's have you sold after getting a Lenco?
I sold my beloved Well Tempered Classic after hearing a replinthed Lenco L-75. It was no contest, better bass, better focus, better pace, better everything. Once you see one the engineering advantages are obvious; these are serious, solid well tho...
Blues "must have, top 100" list?
It's hard to believe Lonnie Johnson has'nt been mentioned yet. He's my all time favorite but always seems to fly under the radar in terms of recognition and its not easy to find his recordings but he a legend and should be remembered as one of our...
