Can speakers be tested?
Rodman: You nailed it, they rattle. So assuming the glue has come unglued, what can be done about it? They're an older model MG 1.6 (fronts) MG CC2 (center) and I think they're obsolete.Even if they could be repaired, would it be worth it?
Seeking AV preamp for Emotiva XPR-5
Yakbob:I bought the NR515 at less than a lot of places are selling it for so I'm going to try for the $300 I paid. It's absolutely brand new, never had a current through it.RW:The UMC-1 looks fine but when I talked to the sales dude at Emotiva and...

Hooking everything up for the first time
This is such miserable news! I've waited months to have this stuff shipped down to Mexico via friends because other shipping methods aren't reliable. It's going to be months to ship it back again and get the right thing. Maybe Amazon will still ta...
Hooking everything up for the first time
If I'm not using Line Outs, the only way left is to connect each speaker OUT on the receiver to the corresponding speaker IN on the amp via the screw down posts. The ones that have a hole in the post.If that's true(?) I'd have to cut one end off t...
Hooking everything up for the first time
>using the pre-amp in the receiver to feed the power amp?Yes. I'm guessing 'regular IC' is an input connector? I don't have any or know what they are, I didn't think of that when I bought the stuff. Can I not use big fat speaker cable?
Can I mix ohms in a surround system?
Cool. What about setup or configuring - do I have to switch anything or it just doesn't care?

How would I navigate?

Thanks Theo:>your electrician will need to upgrade that circuit to 20 How does he do that? Do I have to concern myself with the watts and volts? I'm in Mexico and Mexican electricians don't have to pass a test of any kind :) They work from a me...
What do I need to run my maggies?
Thanks to all! Internetmin: You were right, the load dips and a that requires a lot of transient capacitance. I found out what that term meant and then pretended I knew all along.I talked with a dude at Emotiva and we concluded that the XPR-5 does...
