Coincident with 8 ohm vs16 ohm
Kalan, I agree with your post regarding impedence:"I would guess that some other factor is going on with the cj Premier 12's vs. the cj 11xs. In theory, all that's going on with lower impedance taps is more transformer windings in play."I think my...
Coincident with 8 ohm vs16 ohm
I have the Super Eclipse 3's. My cj Premier 12's (140W's with a 4 ohm tap) won't drive them- I don't think these amps really ever 'turn on' into a place where they are supposed to work. I bought a 30w cj Premier 11xs with a 8 ohm tap and it absolu...
Power amp to match Conrad Johnson Premier17LS
I use CJ Premier 12 tube monos with the LS17. This is a very musical match. Plenty of power and synergistic, in my system, driving N803's. I listen to alot of vinyl or a no brickwall filter dac. The P12's are worth the used price. Good listening.
Theta Delta Basic II Transport Opinions.
Zaikesman: Nothing wrong with the Pearl, I almost bought one at one point. It wasn't laserdisc, it was dvd transport. The repair issue is always a strong consideration for new gear.
ACK dac or Muse 2 / older dac to replace Sa8260
I've owned both the Ack! and Muse2. I finally sold the Muse2 after many years of faithful service and bought a MF A324. I sold the MF A324 after hearing the Ack! I use a Theta transport. The Ack! beats both the the Muse and MF in my all tube syste...
Battery powered DAC
Sold my MF A324 and kept the Ack!Dac. You can search AA and read my review. It's great.
Theta Delta Basic II Transport Opinions.
I've used the Basic II transport for 10 years and still use it in my big rig. Upgraded through Theta from Basic to Basic II. I've used it with a MF A324 with great results and compared it with two DVD players (used as a transport) and the Theta al...
B&W P6?
I've run the P6's in my home theater system for the past few years with a Marantz SR8000 with very good results. Seems to be a good match with no bad bones in the sound.
Hum Problem with Grado
Same problem for me with my VPI M4 and high output Grado Sonata. Not a huge hum, but motor induced and noticable at high volume levels. I shielded the motor assembly with two layers of mu metal and the hum is pretty much completely gone, I'd say 9...
I get a "clicking" on some of my burnt CD's, why?
here's a good explanation of clicking:http://www.mrichter.com/cdr/primer/primer.htm
LP storage? What do you use?
I agree with Rshak. I use the Per Madsen record racks for my 1200+ albums. Some of my units are 12 years old and match perfectly with ones I just bought. Great service and product and look great. A long term investment.
Calling B&W speaker users with tube power amp
I'm using CJ Premier 12's (140w) to drive my B&W N803's. Best combo I've had with the N803's. Completely effortless and musical.
