I would go old school and try some adcom amps or Nad amps. I myself am rocking a B&K sonata 442 with 200w per channel.

I would listen to Elac as well. They have some nice bookshelf speakers that are inexpensive. And I would consider Genelec if you've got the money.

Interesting thread this. But I must admit I find some music or recordings better on regular red book cd's
