PMC IB1 Vs. Harbeth M40
Tedr227's characterization of the PMC IB1 is incorrect. The IB-1 actually does strive for accuracy. I own the IB-1's and have listened to Harbeth M40 at a local Harbeth audio dealer. They are both wonderful speakers, however, the more expensive IB...
PMC IB1 and room size
Hopefully I can post this link which answers a lot of questions that you have. The IB1's should be toed-in and this link contains instructions plus a lot more info about room size with PMC's.http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=26835.10
PMC IB1 and room size
Ryder:My room is about 13' x 18.5' - a little bigger than 225 ft^2.My speakers are on the 18.5' side, 8' feet apart, shifted to the left side of the room. I luck out on the left side as there is a small opening which seems to take care of reflecti...
PMC IB1 and room size
Carl:www.audiocircle.com - There's a Bryston/PMC Owner's Circle. The DAC-1 has really nice mids with the 4B-ST - electric guitar rocks in this setup IMHO. I've tried this exact setup but with the analog bypass of the SP-1.7 as a pre-amp. You may fi...
PMC IB1 and room size
The bass was less boomy (not that I found them real boomy with the ST) with the SST and perhaps reached deeper, although this may have been masked with the ST. Mids and highs were a touch fuller, but not too full. I've recently also added a Bel Ca...
PMC IB1 and room size
Carl:I have a pair of IB1's and an IB1 center in a room of the same size as yours and they are fantastic speakers. Mine are against the wall with no problems. When you are ready, the 4B-SST is a huge improvement over the 4B-ST with the IB1s.
PMC Speakers:"Best Buy"or just another speaker?
Sunnyjim,The Bryston/PMC Owner's circle on www.audiocircle.com has a wealth of information on PMC speakers and ATC vs PMC has been discussed a lot. You might want to check it out if you haven't already. I've only listened to the IB-1 (I own a pair...
DAC in Bryston BP25-DA
The BP-25DA and SP-1.7 both use the CS43122 DAC's for D/A conversion. The SP-1.7 uses the 56367 for processing the digital input stream before sending the digital data to the CS43122 DACs.
DAC in Bryston BP25-DA
Jayboard,The BP25DA uses the same DACs as the Bryston SP-1.7 and adds jitter control. On www.audiocircle.com there is a Bryston/PMC Owner's Circle where the sound quality of the SP-1.7 and BP-25DA have been discussed at length. Although I do not o...
SS Int Amps: Bryston, Simaudio & Magnum-Dynalab
Bryston should be coming out with a larger brother to the B-60 shortly that you might want to investigate. There is more info on audiocircle in the Bryston/PMC forum.
PMC speakers?
Ooops,In my previous post: (my SVS Ultra sub will go a bit lower, but nearly as cleanly)should have been: (my SVS Ultra sub will go a bit lower, but NOT nearly as cleanly)
PMC speakers?
I own PMC IB1's and they are the best speakers that I have ever heard. This comparison includes other big brands that cost twice as much as the IB1's. They are extraordinarily accurate, and just shy of being full-range (my SVS Ultra sub will go a ...
Bryston SP1.7 Bypass or Digital In ????
I used to use a Rotel RCD-971 in bypass mode with my SP-1 for two channel music. I now use a very cheap Sony DVD player (approx $150) wth my SP-1.7 in digital mode with much better results. I have the RCD 971 hooked up to the SP-1.7 with analog an...
Creaking noises from Harman Kardon AVR 7000
It's still under an extended warranty for another 2.5 years. The warranty is supplied by a major canadian electronics retailer and I'm not overly impressed with their repair work. I was just trying to figure out whether it was a common problem wit...
