Vinyl - One Word - WOW!!
I spent a few hours today comparing streaming with vinyl. Vinyl wins easy. The sense of space, air, and speakers disappearing was much better with vinyl.  One record of electronic music by Klaus Schulze sound as good steaming it. But comparing th...
Limited soundstage between speakers
I hope you find a solution with toe in. I have Spendor speakers also. Big SP100's. And I am obsessed with getting imaging outside of the side of the speakers. When set up just right (as they are presently, with toe in directly at my ears) they not...

Holographic Soundstage ?
I upgraded a 70 watt Conrad Johnson Premier 11a to a 500 watt Sanders Magtech amp. Sound stage grew by leaps and bounds! And as you mentioned with your Krell amp, bass is much better with SS. I still use Tubes in preamp (Hovland) and DAC (Lampizat...
Just spoke to an old client of mine..........Avantgarde owner
Thanks for posting this! This helps me put the brakes on my fantasy of getting different speakers. My current dream speaker would be the Sanders electrostatic. I’ve always fantasized about horns...like another poster said, spooky imaging unlike a...
What tube amp for Harbeth 40.1
My solution was to use a 300B Lampizator DAC to power a 500 watt Sanders SS amp =holographic tube magic with snappy transients and wide dynamics.

Is there such a thing as too much power?
I recently upgraded from a 70 W tube amp to a 500 W solid-state. No comparison, more watts are better. In my opinion ,flea watt amps are interesting and can sound amazing with horns or point source whizzers, but for the large  majority of speakers...
Who needs a Preamp??
One of the best improvements I made to my system was getting rid of a Conrad Johnson preamp after buying a Lampizator big 7 DAC with a volume control. Removing the preamp lifted a hazy veil and allowed crisper dynamics in more detail. It also put ...
Replace CJ with new equipment
I sold my CJ 11a and PV12 about a year ago. I found a Lampizator DAC with a volume control straight into the 11a got rid of a thick haze the PV 12 added.  Then sold the 11a when I auditioned a solid state amp (Sanders Magtech) . Speakers are Spend...
Is powerfull Amps only for low sensitivity speakes?
All I can add is personal recent experience with a 500 watt Magtech amp compared to a my 70 watt cj tube amp. I was worried the 500 watts would be too much for my 90dB efficient Spendor SP100 speakers, maybe even blow them out. What I should have ...
Speaker distance
Spendor sp100s, 6 feet apart, my ears around 3 feet in front, strong toe in so I can just see the inside plane of the speakers. The Spendor’s are way out in the room, with about 8 feet behind them to the back wall. REL G1 sub in the right back cor...
Basis Turntables: Worth it or Ripoff?
I love my Basis 2001 with the original (1st) Vector arm. Sounds good to me, but then again, I have not heard any turntables in my system. Compared to my digital rig (Lampizator Big 7 and Aurender N10) it always sounds better when playing the same ...
Spendor and Tubes
I have been using a CJ premier 11a with my SP100's for years. I also just bought a Rel G1 sub. Love the sub with the SP 100's. But I have the Sp100's way out into the room, and I sit near field, so there is very little natural bass reinforcemnet o...
Looking for music streamer/server...Is a Macbook Pro better than a Sony Hap Z....
I am new to computer audio. My DAC (Lampizator 4) with my macbook sounds better than my older Meridian CD player. Very cool. One of the things i love about using my Mac is Pure Music and JRiver's plugins for tone equalization and other acoustic/ro...
