Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
McIntosh is similiar to Timex...."It takes a licking but keeps on ticking" so to speak. Mac gets its fair share of barbs for its audio, but from what pieces I've listened to they aren't all that bad; further, Mac gear can be handed down to your gr...

Dopogue....Really sorry to hear about your CD-RW700 troubles..I just knocked on wood, my 700 has whipped out over three spindles (100's) without a hitch....other than operator error...Sic!! Hopefully, it will continue on for a while longer so I ca...

TASCAM CD-RW700 will do the trick for you. Just plug your Nak IC's into the back of the 700, set the sound level and presto. Excellent audio reproduction. All of my "treasured" tapes are now spinning on CD's made by this great unit. Watch for used...

Who has the oldest speakers?
Bought new, Fisher XP-7's in 1964. Had them in layaway for 3 months till I paid them off. Still sound good with flat bass...presently parked in the effects field of my HT setup.
Good one-box CDP or good DAC?
Consider the Bel Canto V2.0 as the DAC for the MCD205....it will really sweeten the music, add soundstage...all for less than your projected budget. Further, the MCD205 mod works like a charm...no more static pop.
Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer?
MCD205 Static Pop Update (my thread of 7-30-02). McIntosh contacted me today (5Aug)that they have solved the Pop problem and requested that I send my unit back for modification. I have lifted the "Shame on them" marker; however, they still should ...
Has anyone tried the new McIntosh CD changer?
McIntosh MCD205 Changer. When using "digital" output to DAC the unit produces a static pop as CD begins play and is very disturbing to the ear. McIntosh is aware of this problem and indicated that they aren't sure if/when they can solve this flaw....
