ARC PH7 upgrade
I talked to Dave Gordon of Audio Research at an event in Seattle and asked him about the change. He said there were two reasons you should upgrade: first, he thinks it improves the sound (he had just told one of his friends to send his back for th...
Buy tubes from Audio Research or not
Just a couple of comments about retubing a Mkiii. It uses 6H30 tubes not 6922's. The 6H30's don't need to be adjusted like the 6922's from the Mki and Mkii's, you only need to bias the 6550's. If you have a multimeter and the Audio Research bias t...
what's under your Parsifals?

Audio Research PH-7
There is a nice review in Issue 45 of hi-fi+ magazine. I have had mine for about 4 months and it has about 300 hours of play time. I would say that it has a large soundstage with a full and intoxicating sound. As much as I enjoyed my previous Dyna...
VPI Scout damping fluid
I had the same problem when I had my Scout. For a quick fix I lightly pulled up on the arm rest and it seemed to fix the problem (at VPI suggestion). I would also loosen and tighten the allen screw which I also did at VPI's suggestion. There is no...
