B&K 606 Tube Tester Repair Recommendation

I recently discovered that my B&K 606 tube tester is not properly testing 12AX7 tubes. They all register "0" on the quality test. However, 12AU7 tubes tested in the same socket test fine.

Can anyone recommend a repair technician for the B&K, or is it not worth the dough to fix?

Hi,

Honestly, for that particular tester, I don't think that it would be worth the expense to have someone repair it.

You may try posting on Antique Radio Forums test equipment board. They are a great bunch of knowledgeable guys. They may be able to walk you through something or often enough someone may pm you and offer to repair it.

Other sites you may wish to visit are the Tonelizard site and Roger Kennedy's site. Both focus on tubetesters and repair.

Good Luck
I received a quote of $125 to repair and calibrate my 606.

For that cost, I'd be better off buying another one.

7/27 update:
Tested 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AX7 today with no problems. Calibrated the 606
according to the manual. Everything seems to be fine.

Purchased a new 6BN8 tube for the tester just in case...
An old thread i know but can someone list a few shop that can repair/calibrate a B&K 606. Don't tell me throw it away and buy another one as another one will likely need to be repaired or calibrated anyway. Thanks
