Best Place for Negative Reviews?
There are no negative reviews because today's gear are all so wonderful. Bright speakers are "fast". Veiled amps are "romantic"..etc. Sad state of the high end press, they have turned into pimps. I too, enjoy reading the old Stereophiles.
LA Show Report
Totally agree with Hgeifman and Drubin. The lack of lower to mid price stuff was concerning. While the ultra high end gear is interesting to listen to and gives people perspective of what is possible - end of the day, people can only buy what thei...

What are in these Bose speakers anyways
Used to work at an audio store. Fixed speakers. Saw some Boses come in. They used very cheap parts. Very cheap paper cone tweeters and woofers. The crossovers were also with cheap parts. They may have good engineers (don't know, never meet one of ...
Electro Harmonix tube opinions
I have their 6922 non-gold pins, and I like them much more than Phillips JAN NOS and Sovtek. In particular, I found the Sovteks harsh. The EH were much more fluid and relaxed with more details. Good luck. Rich

Burned out Audiophile - Trying to Find some Zen

If you are looking for looks..they might be your cup of tea. If you are looking for great sounds...look somewhere else.
Conrad johnson MF2300 A
Let edit my post above...the first paragraph got cut off. I was trying to say an AB amp runs class A, usually up to 5 to 10 watts. During Class A, it is running to its Class A limit of say 5 watts. If the power is not needed, then the watt is disa...
Conrad johnson MF2300 A
An amplifier usually designed as Class AB; meaning during lower wattage usage (usually 10 watts on demand, up to its limits. A Class A amp is always running full bore, regardless of what is asked of it, the extra wattage will turn to heat. There i...
