BigKidz,You and Carl are welcome to cme over to my place (you've been there before when I owned Supratek) to hear my system with my new 833C amps and 26 preamp. I've fine tuned it over the last few months since I built the amps. You can also bring ...
Is there any 50W 300B SET monoblock out there?
Jwm, thanks for the compliment but I'm not planning to make any commercially, for a few reasons. First, I have a demanding full-time job that I'd like to do for another 8 years or so. Second, the amps cost ~$12k just in parts, some of which are pa...

What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
Rebbi,Check out the Tubelab SSE, which stands for Simple Single Ended. There is a Tubelab Forum on DIYAudio.com, with lots of tips and George is a great guy, too.Reports are they are excellent sounding amps.
Why are there no high end cheater plugs?
Finally, there are "ground loop breaker" circuits published in various places on the net which can also resolve ground loop issues. These consist of a resistor, cap and diode in parallel and allow the breaking of ground loops without resorting to ...
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
To address the original question, IMO the greatest bargain in SET amps is one you build yourself. SETs are very simple circuits, even a beginner can make one. How it sounds will depend greatly on the power supply and the output transformers you se...
Why are there no high end cheater plugs?
Also, if you're handy, you can measure the potential on the chassis of your gear, then reverse the power transformer primary leads and measure again...one orientation will be lower in chassis potential, and that orientation will thus produce less ...
