Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?

I have just acquired a 32 year old JVC/Victor TT-101 DD turntable after having its lesser brother, the TT-81 for the last year.
TT-101
This is one of the great DD designs made at a time when the giant Japanese electronics companies like Technics, Denon, JVC/Victor and Pioneer could pour millions of dollars into 'flagship' models to 'enhance' their lower range models which often sold in the millions.
Because of their complexity however.......if they malfunction.....parts are 'unobtanium'....and they often cannot be repaired.

Dear Halcro, There is nothing as cruel as the thruth. No wonder only a small part of the human kind pretend to be interested in the real truth: the scientist. I want mention the assumptions about the spead of light and their reaction about possible refutation of Einstein. Refusing to except anything else is some evidence of the mentioned 'pretending'. Why do you want to scare us? From the other thread in which you are also involved it follows that there are no good TT's whatever. I was not able to comprehend the arguments but well to understand the conclusion. My only consolation is the fact that I never bought those astronomic expensive plinths nor the similary expensive TT.

Dear Lew, There is one Victor TT 101 on the German ebay for
1000 Euro and if you like to prove that you are right you
are welcome to try. Halcro warned me just in time to avoid
my temptation.

Regards,
Dear Lew, I am not a brave man and have no intention whatever to prove enything. This peculiar TT 101 was already bought and returned to the seller by Halcro. I would never dream to prove Halcro wrong in enything. But I thought that you wanted to prove something so this info about German ebay was meant for you. Ie I am willing to buy the thing for you but this would be an unnecessary
postage complication: from Hong Kong to Holland and than
from Holland to the USA. You can buy the thing directly by
the seller in Hong Kong (Foxtan or so).
However I need to mention that I just got from Moldova
( no typo) the plinth for my SP 10 MK II. For $ 180 all included. With 4 leayers of MDF and black spray. The problem however is I have no idea what to do with this TT.
No place in my living room for a second TT and my bedroom
is already occupied with some other stuff.

Regards,
It may be the case that you both wanted as kids to become
Doctor. To compensate you invented this excuse to buy an
stethoscope. I use my to listen to my neighbours. She is
unbelievable beautiful and I am waiting to 'hear' any mistake he may make.

Regards,
Dear Henry, 'what would we do without you?' This is an easy
question: some will (I hope) laugh less, some will be (I am sure) less annoyed.
BTW the sequence or the order of our actions should be: ask
first and buy there after. However nobody can forbid the other to buy an stethoscope first and ask what to do with this instrument there after.

Regards,
A soldier has his uniform, an officer my have a sward, the English lawyers have a wig and a doctor has the stethoscope. This is called 'non verbal communication' but
somehow it seems to work. Such that Ataturk wanted to raise his country into the Western civilisation by ordering that every Turk was obligatory to wear a hat. According to
the same logic the only thing one need to do is buy a stethoscope.Ie a hat will not do anymore.

Hi Hiho, Lew and I nearly started the Dual motor adventure
but were both confused by reading more about 'it' of 'them'(?). The 'lirical report' from some 'spaceman' was nowhere else affirmed. My interest was 'awakened' some time
ago in the context of the Goldmund Studio and the problems with
the Pabst motors. The Dual motor(s?) were the hope for those how owned the 'wrong Sudio'. This story about possible 'right Dual motor' was even more confusing. I give
up my intention to buy the Studio and bought Lurnes Audiomeca J1 instead. At present I own Kuzma Stabi Reference which has many similarities with the J1.
However I am not aware that this 'effort' to replace Pabst motor was succesful. I need some 'ammunition' or arguments to convince Lew that our 'adventure' with the Dual motor
is worthwhile. Our 'division of labour' was meant that he will do the 'technical issue' while I would buy the right Duals on the German ebay. Ie one can see on the German ebay at least 6 of them each day.
Will you care to provide some 'ammunition'?

Regards,
Dear Hiho, Thanks for your contribution and explanation.
As I or 'we' (Lew included) thought there are at least two
Dual motors: 701 and 721. Lew suggested to use the Dual motor for his
Lenco. I have no idea what to do with my specimen.
Your contribution was primarily directed to the Goldmund
Studio problem. We thought that if this motor is something
very special some other applications would be interesting.
Dreaming and speculating are to my mind very similar.
However I am not sure that this 'ammunition' will convince
Lew to participate in 'some' international collaboration.

Kind regards,
Dear Hiho, Thanks again for your explanation as well for
your patience with the ignorant. As I already stated my hope was based on Lew because he seems to like to mess with all kinds of TT's in his garage(?). I also stated to have no idea what to with the Dual motor on my own. So it is not easy for me to 'elaborate' on this sade state of affair. However I am 100% sure that Lew is very inquisitive
so who knows?

Kind regards,
