Terminals spade type loosening the binding posts
The thread locker may end up being too strong and cause the posts to loosen on the inside when you try and undo the threads.  There are spring washers made for situations such as this.  There and NOT lock washers but they apply a listed pressure o...
Tavish Adagio Vacuum Tube Phono Stage
Art Dudley in his Listener column reviewed one a bit ago and was favorably impressed.
Any new turntable brands we should pay attention to ?
Two pics of my HW-19 with the T-3.  I've since moved it on to a VPI TNT-MK6http://https//lh3.googleusercontent.com/FjdY68mqHibgt3EUC7faOx51HiLyzVXOQmJE_9osIZAPhI1A3u1BUNk4qYbKeG_flgtJZR_1bCcreWcR0rOyZ6tBkXRa8PcmB6TeRI1meR6NCfMPDV8ROi4dUU3B6yRAuxkv...
I need a fitting/appropriate tonearm for my Teres 340
Funny, I think the juxtaposition of the wood table and polished aluminum arm with wire gantry would be way cool!  But then I like the steam punk look.
Moving a 5,000 vinyl LP collection safely
Well then that is what I'd do.  Ignore millions of vertically stored records that aren't warped after decades and do as inna suggests.
Moving a 5,000 vinyl LP collection safely
@milanos.  No way would I ship them flat!  I'm no expert but records stored for decades on edge don't warp.  There was a guy on AK that experimented with horizontal storage with poor results toward the bottom of the stack IIRC.  I don't think ther...
Moving a 5,000 vinyl LP collection safely
Also consider that the records would have to reach the 80 degree mark or whatever temp you are worried about.  Just because the air temp in the transport vehicle reaches X the heat has to penetrate the cardboard which is double walled with an air-...

Would anyone be interested in a timeshare on an Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Pro?
The link doesn't work from within Audiogon but does work if you cut and paste the link.   Don't knowvwhy.
Would anyone be interested in a timeshare on an Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Pro?
http://https//www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=96199 Maybe this will work.  If not,  go to the Vinyl Engine website, go to the forums, then there is a Music forum, there you'll find a record cleaning sub-forum.  Look fo...
Would anyone be interested in a timeshare on an Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Pro?
I too am thinking about a US cleaner:  DIY vs AD vs KL audio.  I have recently talked to a friend who put a grand into a DIY setup that he still has to vacuum to dry them.  He is not enthusiastic about his results.  Another friend just bought the ...
How many LP's
I have a couple of thousand.  Mostly jazz as that is what I'm into these days.  I have 6 record stores with 5 miles of me and I visit them on a rotating basis.  However, my best stuff comes via Discogs.  Works great as long as you know what you ar...
Navacon or Sorbothane Isolators for VPI mk4
I use the Navcon silencers in my HW-19 and they work better than the sorbothane ones I used before that.  They have an aluminum base threaded for the same thread that held the springs.  I used some short threaded studs to mount them into the frame...
$5,000 to spend for analog front end - advice please...:)
I would recommend VPIs TNT line, obviously used.  I just picked up a well treated TNT MK-6 with 12.7 tonearm, peripheral clamp and a SS Zephyr for about $4,000.  Pair with a SoundSmith phono-stage offering or as I did with a used K&K phono-sta...
