Blue Jeans cable is good.As for power cords, do not believe the snake oil about power cords. People CAN reliably tell the difference in a blind test between speakers, amplifiers and preamps. But no one has ever reliably shown they can tell the dif...
My amp has no faults
I find no fault with the Hypex NCore NC400.
Modwright LS100 VS Modwright LS36.5
That's right, it's very difficult to tube roll the 36.5. There are only three choices for the 6H30. Two new production manufacturers which are sonically nearly indistinguishable, and the very expensive DR version which is NOS. The DR version is mo...
Modwright LS100 VS Modwright LS36.5
I'd go with the LS-100. The highly resolved, ever so slightly warm (for a solid state amp that is) and inner detail and micro-dynamic finesse of the Pass amplifier would be complemented well by the richer texture of the LS-100. Personally, I think...
A Dac about two thousand used
NAD M51 is one of the best value DACs out there right now. Not $2000 used, but $2000 new.
Modwright LS100 VS Modwright LS36.5
I have owned the LS-100 as well as other 6SN7 based preamplifiers, and while I have not owned or heard the 36.5, I have owned another 6H30 based preamplifier and I have to say that I prefer 6SN7 preamps to 6H30 preamps in a general sense. The 6SN7 ...
Small integrateds: red wine, bel canto or wyred?
The Red Wine Audio 15 is not Tripath based. My past experience with the 30.2 is that it sounds good, but it's missing the detail and resolution in the treble, some would say that it has a harmonically flat at the top end.On the other hand, the 30....

Small integrateds: red wine, bel canto or wyred?
None of the above. There is a Rogue Audio Cronos on Audiogon right now. I'd go for it, should be a great match with your speakers.
upscale audio is this legal?
Based on Kevin's latest response, sounds like he has offered to replace the amplifier sent in error with the correct and appropriate amplifier. This is above and beyond fair.I have never bought from Upscale, but I would now consider Upscale a prefe...
upscale audio is this legal?

upscale audio is this legal?
1.5 years is a long time. Long past the point of reasonable to expect a seller to correct a mistake.
Seperate DAC or New AVR?
Save your money. Getting a new DAC will only run into the limitations of the existing AVR, and getting a new AVR with a budget of $500 would be a marginal improvement over the existing one at the very best.Having said that, if you can find a used ...
Can "Dark"Sounding Speakers Be "Brightened"UP???
If a previous owner of the same speakers says that it just isn't that extended, then I'd go with that. The most important components in a stereo system are, in order: speakers, speaker amp synergy, amp, preamp, source. There's only so much you can ...
Can "Dark"Sounding Speakers Be "Brightened"UP???
A lot of this is in the synergy between the speakers and the amplifier.Your speakers might be brighter with the same amplifier than his speakers paired with the same amplifier. Cables may make a difference, but frankly, the gear will make a bigger...
