blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
Not having high hundreds or thousands available right now to guy yet another box for my system I thought I would be clever.  Saw a little bitty box on ebay that supposedly takes the HDMI out of the bluray and extracts  24/196 to coaxial or toslink...
Captive turntable interconnects; should I modify??
Are you saying the RCA jacks are not marked for left or right channel?  Well the easy thing to do would be to test continuity up to the actual cartridge connections, or the easier thing would be to compare a vinyl that you have also on CD and see ...
blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
thanks I will look into those options.
blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
OK so all I have that will take a HDMI input is my Sony TV.  So I guess that I am stuck trying to listen to the disc thru the TV as I noted happening  when I fired up the bluray player.  Or get some sort of HDMI device between my system and the bl...
blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
That doesn't make sense really, as you can send GHz. microwave signals thru coaxial cable,  the amplitude losses from long runs being the only negative factor, usually.  But if it is how it is, so be it.   Maybe I will soon be selling a bluray dis...
blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
OK I will rephrase my question.  IS there a blu ray player that will output to a DAC with the full 24/96 from the Pure Audio discs?  That is not something in the mega bucks price range?   I messed with the settings on the player I have and still c...
recommendations on a good used cd player for under $750
Addendum, make sure the Cambridge comes with the matching remote control!  Before it I had a Krell CD player.  It was really nice sounding too, but then being older, it developed leaking caps that shorted a power supply and an unobtainium gear bro...

I have the Cambridge 840C, it might be the later version, and the matching amp with balanced interconnects.  I certainly have found it to be nice and it doubles as a hi rez dac, if you can get a hi rez source to it!  Up to 192/24. Either coax or o...
Snobbiest audio websites
Snobby I don't know but annoying is one that can get off into politics over wires!
Anyone got a Linn Kudos tuner? Question
Well glad to hear that. SO mine is not the only one that does that. Not really a problem but since it is not mentioned in their downloadable manual, I was wondering. Reading some old forum threads I googled, it may be that the tuner at some point ...
What time do you wear?
Back in the early 2000's I got the "watch bug" and started buying all kinds. Sold off most of them. Now I am down to very few. Just selling a Breitling chrono that has been an expensive headache and got an Omega Speedmaster to replace it. But hard...
Anyone got a Linn Kudos tuner? Question
Thanks. I have been on A gon so rarely in the last few years that I almost forgot how to log in! I am keeping my eyes open for a remote but don't see spending a large sum to get one as I listen to one station most of the time anyway. So far I have...
Need Help on a Krell KAV300cd Repair - have one?
I used to have one. It died and the cause was a bunch of the electrolytic capacitors in the audio output leaked and one caused a short. SO I shotgunned all the lytics in that audio output board that are across the plus and minus 5 Volts. Thinking ...
Vandersteen and NOT BI WIRE---Your thoughts
I went ahead and biwired the ones I had simply because it was just as easy as figuring out reliable jumpers with those flush banana jacks. That is one thing I did not like about them, the hassle of single cable hookups. My current speakers have bi...
Is it good for a Krell to SIT for 3-5yrs
Krells use alot of Nichicon caps and I have had to rework a ca. 1998 amp board in a Krell where it had 28 of those caps installed as bypasses or something. A third of them were leaking. One shorted a power buss. The cost of new Nichicon equivalent...
