I've been selling heavier gear for lighter gear
Dang, there sure are a lot of old farts on this thread! JK I'm 65 and I am also at the point where I consider the weight of a component before I would purchase it. My most heavy piece right now is a Pass INT60, at 90+ lbs. Once that piece goes,  I...
Streamer Upgrade Bluesound Node To Aurender N10
I recently purchased a Bluesound Node 130. It sounded good out of the box, however after I upgraded it using the PDCreative/SBooster power supply, there was a noticeable improvement in sound quality in my system. I haven't compared this setup to a...
1st Album you Ever Owned?
My parents bought me a Philco casette player for my 15th birthday. They also included Moody Blues, Every good boy deserves favour.  On casette, if that counts. Fourty something years later and I recently found a copy on vinyl. Good old memories...
Phono stage hum - Rega Aria
I'm using DH Labs BL1 DIY that I assembled myself. It's a two conductor with a ground. On the phono source end, the pos is connected to the pos RCA pin, the neg and jacket ground are connected to the ground pin. On the preamp end, just the pos and...
Phono stage hum - Rega Aria
I have a Rega P8 going into an Aria MkII to a Pass Int 60. No hum. Even with volume turned up and just phono source selected,  no record playing, its just soft white noise, no buzz or hum. The phono cables from the Aria to Int60 are 3 conductor, g...
Has anyone used an Audio Technica 6006 to raise the tonearm when the side is over?
The tru lift is a good alternative to the AT6006. Also, LittleFwend is nice. However if you place the lift inside the hole, you may need to readjust the setting anytime you move the turntable. While cleaning or dusting under the table for example....
Has anyone used an Audio Technica 6006 to raise the tonearm when the side is over?
Right, forgot to mention you can't use the Rega dust cover with the tone arm lift. I purchased a Pro-ject dustcover for the RPM1 RPM3. Works great with the Planar8 and tone arm lift. Not sure how to send pics. Apheta 3 is very nice. Prev combo was...
Has anyone used an Audio Technica 6006 to raise the tonearm when the side is over?
I recently purchased a Rega Planar 8 with Apheta 3. I also added the AT6006 tone arm lift. It works great! The spacers are not needed as the main unit fits nicely on the Rega arm brace. Highly recommended. Purchased the AT6006 on Amazon however ot...

McIntosh Preamp and Audio Research Amp
When I was using a Mac AV preamp with 5v trigger to power my Krell multi channel amp with 12v trigger, I used a Niles trigger interface. The Niles takes an input anywhere from 3-30v and outputs a 12v signal. Worked great! I don’t use it anymore, s...
Accuphase DP-57 vs DP-67 Comparison
Having spent several months with the DP-57, my opinion is that it images extremely well, and is very musically involving. Plus, it has the smoothest opening and closing CD tray. I love the build quality! The Accuphase units invert phase out of the...
Buzz/Hum from Cary SLI-80
Sounds like a ground loop to me. Try a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter on the AC cord. Also called a cheater plug. You can get them almost anywhere. Radio Shack, Home depot, the grocery store...
McIntosh Mc 1201 & MCD 201
I have not yet heard this unit, but there is some information at the McIntosh forum at: http://audiokarma.org
I fell victim to a scam
Good news for me! As I mentioned, my first reaction was to go to the Police. However, I just spoke with my bank. They had me come in and fill out an "Affidavit for Unauthorized Access of my Account" form. My bank reimbursed me my full amount and t...
I fell victim to a scam
Thanks for your responses so far. To answer a couple of your questions:This scammer has already canceled his account on Audiogon. I paid with cash through my Paypal checking account. I'll know better next time...
