Oppo Nuforce BDP-93NE
Does anyone have any additional comments on the sound of the stock BDP-95 vs the 2 Nu Force 93's in 2 channel analog mode for music? Curious about both CD & SACD. My current digital front end is an an Esoteric P-10>Illuminati Cable>PS Au...
Oppo Nuforce BDP-93NE
3 questions:1. Has anyone actually had the chance to compare a stock 95 vs a Nu Force 93 (I'm interested in both cd & SACD/DVD-A)?2. Has anyone had the chance to compare the standard Nu Force 93 vs the "Extreme" Nu Force 93?3. Does anyone know...
Review: PS Audio SL3 DA converter
I've owned one of these for years. For the price (I think it was around $1,000 new around 1999), the performance is stunning. It was actually recommended to me years ago by Robert Harley at an in store appearance.

Turned out that once repaired the PS Audio is a much better sounding DAC then the Xindak........
CD Player Under $1.5k With Vinyl Sound
I JUST bought a Xindak DAC-5 demo for $700 (list is $900). Not sure what you'd partner it with as a transport & digital cable) to meet your $1500 price point, but it is the most analog like digital I've ever heard.

The store where I bought the Xindak is doing a diagnosis at no charge on the PS Audio. I will likely trade it in to them after they find out what's wrong & make me an offer. After spending more time with the Xindak, I am stunned at how good it ...

I heard the MF today. I did not buy it. My initial impression is that for $300 it is a giant killer, BUT it's major weakness (in the system I heard it in) is brightness & sibilance in the vocals & cymbals. Unfortunately, I am really sensit...

Petty Officer, the answer is yes, but my entire system is 2 channel only.

Wow, i can't wait to hear it wilth the upgraded power supply! I hope to hear it tomorrow. From reading, my only concern is I THINK it doesn't have HDCD.This dealer also does repair. If I'm not happy with the MF, I'll seriously consider having them...

I just s/w a new local dealer I wasn't previously aware of who carries the MF, with a 30 money back & 60 day 100% exchange, so I'll likely be checking it out.

Pettyofficer, the 578 is much better with SACD then with CD.

Stanwal, thank you for your help! If Martin Colloms is saying it's almost twice as good as the Meridians, it's likely also better then my PS Audio, which I'd say was about 30% better then the Meridians. Do you know if he gave it the 42 with or wit...

I'm glad I asked! I was leaning towards the Oppo, but I will look into the Musical Fidelity with some seriousness.

Stanwal, I used to own both a Meridian 203 & a 263. I see you're a Meridian guy. Could you compare the MF V-DAC to the Meridians for a point of reference? The NF looks interesting.

Thanks for the tip! One other thing I should mention, I do already have a budget Pioneer DV-578a universal player which I use for DVD & SACD, & would be looking to improve on it's sound.
