Ikeda 407 Tone Arms - New or Vintage
Hi Raul, I ended up buying a Glanz MH 1200S.  I am using it with several Miyajima Infinity Cartridges.  I am swapping headshells and 0.7 mil, 1.0 mil, and 3.0 mil for different types of mono records.  Lately, I am also experimenting with using di...
Tonearms for reference 78 RPM system Technics SP-10R
I have several 78 cartridges.  They tend to be very heavy.  I use Miyajima Infinity with the Fidelity Research FR-64s.  I also have EMT OFD 65 (37 grams) and Ortofon CG 65 (35 grams).  I wonder if such cartridges would be too heavy for the Lustre-...
Help me with a Fidelity Research FR64 part
Thanks Chakster! I received the nut and washer promptly, but did not get around to mounting it until this weekend, with help from my local dealer. Had to scrap off a bit from Swissonor’s arm board and the interior of the plinth, but was able to do...
Help me with a Fidelity Research FR64 part
Did anyone ever find a reliable source for this part? I have an FR-64s with the large base (B60). However, I would like to mount the arm on my Thorens TD-124. To allow the arm to fit the 124, I believe I will need to buy a smaller base. I see a ba...
Best cost no object tube phono
Thanks Raul.  Good to know.  That will be great it they can customize the gain.
Best cost no object tube phono
Thanks Ralph.  Yes, I have the EMT OFD 65, and the Miyajima Infinity Mono 3 mil for 78s as well.  Aside from noise, I'd worry that the wide grooves of 78s might mess up my microgrove mono cartridges (OFD 15 / 25, Miyajima 1.0 mil).  Anyway, you mi...
Best cost no object tube phono
I am very interested in the FM Acoustics 123.  However, I wonder about the gain settings, either 46 dB or 56 dB for the 122 (assuming 123 is about the same, I couldn't find data).  For which cartridges would these settings be optimal?  Perhaps, su...
Your experience as Yamamoto owner?
I just saw this thread.  I have the A-011, from Brian at Venus Hi Fi.   I've contacted Yamamoto directly several times.  They have always been very responsive. I use this with Shindo preamp and Devore O/93.  I think it's a nice combo.  I'm plannin...
Need recommendation on mono cartridge please
I have tried both a Shelter 501 Mono, and, more recently, a Miyajima Premium BE, which is still breaking in (I've had it set up for a few weeks). I have a better turntable and preamp now, so it's hard to make an apples to apples comparison. Howeve...

Mitch Singerman EAR 834p mod
Just fyi, I have an EAR 834p currently being modded by the folks at The Analog Room in San Jose. These folks also have designed their own high end pre amp, Wavestream Kinetics...and one of the guys who designed the mods previously worked at MFA. I...

Budget Chinese Tube amps - any good?
I recently ordered some speakers from Stereo Unlimited in Walnut Creek. These folks recommend a Jolida amp to go with the speakers. They mod the amp and they say they will help out if anything should go wrong. This seems to be a pretty good option...
Hi Fi Dealers in NYC - where to find them?
High Water Sound might be worth checking out. I moved out of NYC several years ago...have only spoke with these folks on the phone...sounded very friendly and helpful.
