XLR cables that sound bold, natural, real..silver?
Thanks for the responses. I've got the Audio Sensibility Statement Silver and Grover Huffman ICs on order. Will report back how they compare.
AUDIENCE AU24e vs CARDAS CLEAR for HEGEL/JA PULSAR
I just auditioned the Audience AU24E and Cardas Clear Sky and Acoustic Zen Satori. The AZ I felt was warm but not as transparent as the Audience. Although the Cardas was clear in the highs, I found it lacking bass and body.I didn't want to spend t...
Anyone try Supra LoRad 2.5 PCs?
I just spent this morning doing that (replacing the Supra connectors with some Wattgates I had lying around) -- big improvement! A very open, airy, clear and neutral sound. Wonder what Furutechs would do.
How to remove harshness from my digital gear
Surely the most obvious answer is to look at your speakers or find the right source that complements your amp and speakers as-is.It's going to be very hard to solve this if the root cause is really the tweeter levels in the Dynaudios. That's reall...
Anyone try Supra LoRad 2.5 PCs?
I quite like this cable - it's neutral and fine. The Supra connectors are limiting, but then it seems out of whack to use the LoRad with expensive Furutechs. As a cable, I think it's a great budget choice.
Best alternative w/digtal inputs to Ayre QB-9 DAC?
Obvious suggestions would be the Metrum Octave III, the Chord QuteHD and the NAD M51.
Which USB to S/PDIF converter with Metrum Octave?
Hey. I got my iLink from Stereodesk for $299. It works real good! It comes with its own USB cable, SPDIF cable (with BNC-RCA adaptors) and a Toslink cable. Sound has improved quite distinctly with my Squeezebox Touch. More details and a larger sou...
Which USB to S/PDIF converter with Metrum Octave?
There's the new iFi iUSB + Gemini cable + iLink combo. Should come in well under $1k.The iUSB provides isolation and provides cleans power, the Gemini cable separates power and data feeding the iLink converter itself.I've got an iLink on order, wi...
Speaker cables like Audience AU24 E but cheaper
I am leaning to your way of thinking, Chayro, but I've never spent so much on cabling before. The Auditoriums sound really interesting but are also actually not much cheaper than Audience.

Pass Int-150 or Int-30A for PMC Speakers?
Some other integrateds I might suggest are the ATC SIA-150, the Ayre AX-5 and the Gamut Di150

The "best" is all a matter of budget!I would think a NAS over ethernet (like a Vortexbox) into an appliance (like the Touch) would be easiest and good, although Logitech has EOL'd the Touch, grrr.Stepping up in quality and expense, you could build...
Help with a system for a guy into electronic music
Oh, my last add on some hefty floorstanders, I've not heard these but the new Revel F208s look tasty! 3-ways with 2x8" woofers, brutish looking cabinets; you won't need stands and could have mains that give a more fullrange sound.
Help with a system for a guy into electronic music
I like electronica, too, and totally agree with the idea of getting at least one sub - I don't think there's any question of how important sub-bass is for EDM/IDM!Honestly also not sure about the benefits of two subs, though, as those funds can be...
Experiences with NAD M51 DAC
Good to hear you made the right choice for your system, that's all that matters. And when your kids go to college, there are always the active SCM50/100s!
