Your favorite musical non fatiguing speakers?
Funny side note. In a neighbors be damned session I was playing "the Specials" enjoying that Ska percussion the Parcifals did a great job with. My wife came downstairs and we started dancing probably for 20 minutes or so. A while later my kids cam...

LOL. Ok here's the scoop. After having them a couple weeks the bass really opened up (normally a good thing). Except we live in a townhouse and hitting the magical volume level makes me feel uneasy about bothering our very nice neighbors. Also the...
Hegel HD25 Just..WOW
It's a shame it doesn't do DSD since it's becoming something of an up convert standard. But lots of good reviews for its sound.
Best natural, musical DAC under $3K?
Preamp is Cary SLP98 tube. Using Cary SS amp. I do a lot of Spotify streaming through the iPad.
Is Spotify as good of quality as the HD-Tracks?
I agree that Spotify seems to actually sound better than MOG. Spotify also seems to have much better selection of classical music and jazz than MOG which caused me to jump ship. Strange since MOG bills itself as being for audiophiles yet skimps on...

Scott - thanks but I'd be worried about what happens when your Alexia's finally break in. The bliss from speakers that lofty seems like they could cause irreversible astral transmutation...lol I finally added the Cary SLP98 tube preamp to the syst...
Oppo "Darrbee" sound quality?
Actually I have their HA-1 headphone amp with the same Sabre 33 DAC as the 105. Oppo said there was virtually no difference in sound. Couldn't really comment on other CD players since I've just had a Cary DVD player in my rack for the last 12 year...

JMC - I'll see if Cable Co carries the stealth. What model were these?BJesien - I'll keep the Stadium III's in mind after we leave the townhouse next year. They're already too penetrating as it is for our current setup. It's a luxury townhouse wit...
Best DAC to also use as a preamp
Has anyone tried the new wyred4sound SE's in preamp mode? The Aurelic Vega?

I'm thinking the Museaus cables in the Parcifals probably ARE too dark. I've never been a big fan of AQ but the AQ Rocket 33's I'm temporarily using seem to be a good match. The treble is bit lacking in refinement but otherwise they're quite good....
Oppo "Darrbee" sound quality?
Darbee is purely video processing - no sound involved. Both Oppos with Darby sound good. Of course the 105D is more expensive and sounds that way.

Bjesien - have you experimented with placement? If you want to love the bass put them as close as you can to the back wall just before they get boomy. They take some getting used to because if there's no bass in the recording you won't hear a scin...

Yes I have the woofers firing backwards as recommended by Verity for soundstage depth, etc. They actually recommended between 1 1/2 - 3 feet. Since I live in a town home I figured I'd start at 3 feet to keep peace with the neighbors. The sweet spo...

Hmm, I always thought she did a good with rhythm on piano (even though her crooning does get draggy at times). Oh well the Parcifals didn't turn Little Richard into Keith Jarrett either.. Maybe I need a better amp.
Attention Verity owners
Thanks for your suggestions. I just called Cable Company this morning and they're shipping some of the newest Cardas, Acoustic Zen and Wired for Sound speakers. After I swap those out I'll try some of your recommendations. Oddly Steve at Cable Com...
