Results from Beta Testers of New Formulas
4Yanx,Like I said... I'm no chemist so whatever answers or explanations a developer would provide would be meaningless to me anyway. I would imagine that would apply to you as well, although as you pointed out in your rant you have some active int...
Results from Beta Testers of New Formulas
4Yanx,I read through the entire thread in some detail. Your interest in the topic is obvious and in playing devil's advocate perhaps was meant to stimulate more discussion, BUT your tone is antagonistic and uncalled for. If you developed a formula...

Sending Equipment out of Country for Repair/Servic
I ran into this not long ago when I bought an item from the USA and paid taxes on it when it entered Canada. The item was damaged in transit to me and had to be sent for repair in the USA. If you send an out-of-warranty item to the USA from Canada...
what's your favorite album cover?
For some reason I like Supertramp album covers. "Crime of the Century" was cool, "Crisis, What Crisis" was somewhat tongue in cheek, and of course "Even in the Quietest Moments" is a classic. I love the piano sitting on a mountain top, with the sh...
Mcintosh-Bad customer service?
I know we have some lawyers that frequent AudioGon, I'd appreciate hearing from them regarding Mcintosh's stance on Ebay. It seems absolutely surreal that they can insist you either modify your ad, or they will have your ad pulled. You're a privat...
Triumph
I saw Triumph touring to support their "Rock and Roll Machine" album in 1977 (I think). Auditorium at a nearby college, total attendance of less than a 1000. I squirmed my way to the front row, first time I had seen a drummer that could really sin...
Cry me a river
A live violin solo played in a church yesterday during a funeral service for a wonderful lady. The sound was heartfelt, haunting, and beyond moving. Rest in Peace Pat.
Long XLR interconnect recommendations needed
Well, I use a 8-meter run of Goertz Micropurl between my BATVK30 and VK500. No complaints, and it's priced competitively. Should come in around $500 or so. Buy some bulk Micropurl and solder the XLR's on yourself... or have Goertz do it. Real frie...
What tattoo to get next?
Amusing thread, it went from "why would you? don't do it!" to some interesting ideas. In the end I settled on the album cover from "Even in the Quietest Moments". It took the artist over three hours to do it, he pointed ot most artists wouldn't at...
Bright Star Air Mass II
Well done Barry, nice to see owners jump in and help out. Another "good guy" folks.
Review: Toshiba SD 3960 CD Player
I used Wurth noise-suppression material, it's peel-and-stick and very substantial. I only did the inside of the unit and it now weighs a ton. I stuck on some small EAR footers as well, forgot about them little fellas. And yep I did the work along ...
Review: Toshiba SD 3960 CD Player
I thoroughly modded a 3950 for use in my office system, total cost of the the player plus mods was under $200. I changed all the capacitors to either Panasonic or Black Gates, changed the DAC to a TI/Burr Brown, installed an IEC, and used extensiv...
Turning Stereo into Alarm Clock?
I have a Sansui timer, three oulets on the back (two-pronged outlets, you'd need to use cheater plugs with standard three-pronged power cords). You can use it as a sleep timer and an "alarm clock". $75 + ship if you're so inclined.Regards, Jeff
A little assistance please on a SS Integrated Amp
My first thought would be an Opera Consance tube integrated but tubes aren't for everyone. I presume that solid state is preferable i.e. the lady may not want to replace tubes or tube-roll? I've played around with many "budget" integrateds, my fav...
