Add I2s to Oppo players?
I read through the replies and hopefully I'm not replicating a post. The OP won't be using the HDMI out from the OPPO as it is setup from the factory. The Oppomod adds a card to the PCB which includes it's own seperate I2S output using the HDMI ca...
SGCD with Aries mini, does the Marantz SA8005 alter the digital signal
@jafant  Thanks, but I was referring to the Aries Mini's USB output as a streamer and digital pass through from the 8005 for the most part, sorry if I sounded confusing.
SGCD with Aries mini, does the Marantz SA8005 alter the digital signal
Sorry to confuse anyone, I'm trying to get the Mini to output through it's USB into the SGCD. To do that, I had to use the 8005 as a pass-through device. This would let the digital signal in and back out via coax.My question was, does the 8005 do ...
Digital coax from CD player to DAC, RCA or BNC-RCA?
Thanks for all the input.@dabel I did purchase a Nordost Silver Shadow BNC digital coax with the RCA adapters from a member here, NIB. Thank you for pointing me in that direction.I will gladly report my findings once everything is up and running.
How long does Class A have?
I don't see any issues on class A components. There is no issue with 50A breakers in almost every home for a range, dryer, HVAC, or 20-30A for a water heater.Add in the fact they are pushing EV with 50A receptacles, I seriously doubt maybe 1 in wha...
Searching for a new CD player
Schiit will introduce a transport, I think; at least the guy I swapped emails with me said so. With even the Modi MB DAC it should be a decent combo. If they include an i2s port it could be quite a contender.
New DAC or New Streamer or New Streamer/DAC
@acurus "Lightning DS app works well, when it works, but constantly crashes and cant find the device"I just wanted to be sure you are setup correctly. I read that sentence from you and remembered my issue with LDS and having it constantly not find...
Looking to upgrade DAC from SA8005
I haven't heard any Chord's, except for good things about them, so I cannot comment.I agree my preamp should be also a primary focus and it does come down to synergy.I suppose at a more ideal budget, I keep coming down to the DAC-2 and the Stellar...
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
I bought this used a few years ago from the original owner and he barely used it but did not have the extra weight. Thank you for the link.
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
To update this, I installed the 33PTG/2 yesterday and pretty much have it dialed in to the Baerwald arc. I just need to fine tune the azimuth but had to shove off to work yesterday but was able to play a few tracks. With the cart, and the Cardas wi...
Checking azimuth with a DMM or scope, please advise
For some reason I'm having a hard time quoting so forgive me.I ran the HiFi News Test LP on my last Denon 301 mk2 ans worked good. This time around I'm using the AT33PTG/2, along with a Cardas rewire, tonearm and unbalanced leads.I have the cart p...
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
Thank you for the replies. I did place an order for the 33PTG/2, as well as the KAB cardas wires and fluid damper. I'll surely report back once it's up and running.I agree you cannot have too many carts, so after a while I will look to add maybe t...
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
@gibsonian  What are your thoughts of the micro line vs the shibato? Does the ML start to lean away from musical.. but not implying analytical? These 3 carts, the ART9, OC9/iii, and the 33PTG are looking like you need to own all of them...lol.
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
I did just recently replace the stoxk tonearm wires with Cardas Litz as well as Cardas RCA cables on a new PCB. Also used the Cardas Quad Euctextic silver solder, just haven't had the chance to audition the changes yet.
AT 33SA or OC9 for 1200 mk5
"If you can up your game a few more, the ART9 is unquestionably a step above"I’ve heard that from a couple people... I’m also a believer in "buy once cry once" also so that doesn’t help my budget...lol.Surely is an option but have to do a lot more...
