If you have a nice system why do you really need room treatments?
An acoustically well treated room can make a much less expensive system sound far better than a much more expensive system in an untreated room. Acoustic treatment, done properly, can leave you wondering why you thought what you listened to before...
Example of a piece o’ crap, useless review
Reviews are largely another form of advertising. Boilerplate is far less time consuming than critical analysis and irate manufactuers threarening to pull advertising dollars can be avoided.
Breaking news! Jays Audio is moving to Texas and takes interest in McIntosh
Youtube fortunes are built on attracting sycophants living vicariously through access savvy individuals parading temporary ownership of ulta high end goods.
Rockport Lyras
Any negative discussion of this individual is shut down on other forums as well. Self  promotion, not content, is integral to so many aspects of internet activity and profitability that it cannot be nevatively discuused.
Audio Research Financial Troubles
Most recent post on FB was quite positive and encouraging. The introduction of the 320M seems near completion while acknowledging long development beyond norm. In the wake of reorganization with new owners new equipment goes a long way toward esta...
Audio Research Financial Troubles
There has been no actually new product from ARC since Ward Fiebiger passed away in 2017. He, essentially alone, designed all the ARC audio  circuits since 2005. Trent Suggs purchased a company that was already compromised from a design talent stan...
ARC REF 6 upgraded by ARC.
I knew there was a reason I stopped reading and posting on these forums. Silly of me to return.
mcintosh mc-462
I had a C70 and Mc462 in a second system, but the room was too small, the speakers were too big. I sold the entire system starting over with SET. However, the 462 is a very powerful and smooth amp that I thought had excellent synergy with the C70 ...
ARC REF 6 upgraded by ARC.
Basically you are in queue waiting for return authorization. Once you get that you have 30d to get unit to them and they start when received. Customer pays shipping and ARC prefers original packing. They want tubes but out of unit in original pack...
ARC REF 6 upgraded by ARC.
Yes but wait times are in months. You should email them. The upgrade is around $3K and well worth the money in terms of improved detail and soundstage.
What's your experience with snooty HiFi salesmen?
I respond to attitude with gratitude. Thank you for your time, and leave without further conversation.  Don’t expect good advice or service from anyone in any profession who postures by way of introduction.
Anyone heard the new ARC LS28 SE?
In order to appreciate the differences between Ref and LS series the associated equipment must be sufficiently resolving and the match between the amp and preamp (impedance among others) favorable. The LS series are designed similarly to Ref serie...
My thoughts on my new Esoteric k03xd CD player.
A few months ago I sold my ARC CD6SE and replaced it with an Esoteric K-03XD that I purchased on Agon. Two reasons, one ARC d/c’d all CD players due to Phillips stopping production of the spinner/laser and ergonomic issues with the top loading in ...
Audio Research Sold
It’s all about capitalization to maintain quality and service. I just took delivery of a Ref Phono 3SE and line 1 had an inoperative R channel despite the customary QC card stating full working order. The build quality on the new series is good bu...
Audio Research Ref 6 SE
These postings about ARC model revisions, frequency, and quality implications are the same as those of 5 and 10 years ago.   If you like the new "neutral" sound signature, which is much less "tube euphonic/romantic" than the ARC of the 70s-80s, yo...
