Bidat vs. Perfecwave MSB Playback Design
Vhiner thanks for the enthusiasm :) I will be posting the review (my own humble opinions) as soon as I get my Bidat back. As great as it sounds it was stock. John Wright of Museatex fame currently has my unit in hand and is doing the full upgrade ...

Worldcat thank you so much for taking time to address my concerns. I check this thread every so often to get others feedback. I really appreciate all the input.
What gives? CD’s, Solid State?
I will bet you anything it is not just because it is solid state or because it is CD. People can argue cd is no good ad-infinitum BUT I have heard CD better than a 10K analog rig and I have heard a 1K turntable sound better than CD.As a person who...
Bidat vs. Perfecwave MSB Playback Design
I can tell you I expect the MPD to be better. But the Bidat currently is my ref.
What is the best DAC ever made?
Bidat. Oh, and bespoke is certainly not limited to just clothing, while yester-year it may have been used primarily in reference to clothing, it is used for nearly all things custom made and usually of a more high-end nature :)
Bidat vs. Perfecwave MSB Playback Design
LOL!!!!! I have Romy before and found him to be a bit gruff to say the least. Very opinionated and always right (in his world). I am leaning towards the Music Playback Design for my high res files. I will post here when I have and give it a chance...
I'm shocked
I owned the US $7K Dynastation Dynavox II cd player which is based on the PS 1 but uses a trick NOS Tube output stage and tube rectification for the analog output. Absolutelty the BEST single box player I have ever heard or owned and that is a LON...

I left the BIOS argument alone, some things in audio are so far flung I just opt to stay away, but I would like to report that I have decided to purchase the Amarra software. After careful listening sessions I am convinced (well 95% convinced and ...

I don't buy the bios burn in at all. Doesn't mean it's not true, just means I don't believe it. I know there is a lot of non-sense non-science as it relates to audio and I think the BIOS "burn in" lends itself to that camp :)

Well, again I agree with your comments. I too first thought it sounded like maybe some EQ tricks were going on. I am not fully convinced yet, but I just ordered (this morning) 4GB of mem for my mac mini Core2Duo and I will be doing further tests a...

I worked at one time for the pc board manufacturer American Megatrends on bios systems, the burn they are speaking of is a hardware burn in to make sure that there are no hardware failures within a certain period of say 24 or 48 hours of intense t...

I joked about that too...LOL!!!

Thanks, Sidssp for your remarks. The phrasing that I refer to is not chestiness, it is phrasing much like a great trumpet player is able to do; sort of like Miles Davis. Their were many trumpeters with more power but I know of non that could phras...

I don't know about better, but different maybe. Try Media Monkey. Also just in case you were unaware, the fastest way I have found to access my music in iTunes is the icon to the left on the top bar towards the right. You will see 3 iconic buttons...

Antipodes_audio wrote:"The sound of a Mac without Amarra sounded like you had swapped out the Coax cable and inserted an AT&T cable - cleaner, faster, better dynamics and PRAT, but with the downside of a touch of glare. Amarra more or less rem...
