ModWright PH 9.0 vs Manley Chinook MkII
Big fan of Dan Wright's phono preamps, many other 'high end' phono pre's have come and gone over the years and I still own Modwright's SWP 9.0 SE and presently use a PH-150 and PH-9.0.
best phono stage under 10k
Keith Herron is a great guy for sure and excellent to do business with, however I sold my VTPH-2 shortly after purchasing it from Keith, it was a little quirky and not as resolving as expected. My Pass XP15 was superior, and even more so Modwrigh...
Anyone still using a Teres table?
Teres 320 Cocobolo, work of art, can't imagine ever selling, perfect combination of craftsmanship and engineering. Few tt manufacturers understand damping and resonance. It's unfortunate Chris is no longer manufacturing tables.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there?
I previously owned the first generation Zesto phono, it was a good all around performer and I did like it, ultimately I found it a little soft and lacking dynamics (especially in comparison to the Pass Xono I had at the time), I felt it could use ...
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there?
I'm really curious to hear from anyone who has compared the VTPH-2 against other manufactures hi-end (possibly higher priced) phono offerings such as Pass Xono or XP15, BMC MCCI, Modwright SWP or PH150, Allnic H3000v... and so on.
Has anyone else heard Modwright PH150 Phono Stage?
I own both the SWP 9.0 and the PH-150, the PH-150 is an excellent phono and I would recommend it, black back ground, transparent and excellent dynamics. It did take quite a while to burn in and I didn't much like the stock 6922 tubes, a good pair ...
Custom TT Belt
I may have to give this a try, I have used the OL platter mat (on billet platters) with great success.
Stand out phono stages
I will add Modwright Reference PH-150 to the discussion, I have owned several hi end phono's and this one is among the best.
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
Sabai, Just give it up! You are relentless, I can't believe you are still carrying on, we get it, you have a grudge and your opinions are biased as such. These experienced ears (and many others in this thread) are happy to report that Huffman cable...
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
Sabai. I really don't care which cables you use or want to follow your ongoing pattern of jumping on a new product, raving about it in these forums then dumping it for the next new product that comes along, then bad mouthing the cables you were ju...
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
Sabai. I wonder how long it will be until you abandon the Shunyata cables you are currently raving about. Move onto the next flavor of the month and start bad mouthing Shunyata cables. I'm sure it won't be long!
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
Sabai, I seem to recall about a year ago there was a long thread regarding HiDiamond cables and you were raving about them. Now suddenly they don't even come close to the cables you have in your system(?) seems a little odd to me, I guess you are ...
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
I must also disagree with Sabai's statement "Huffman cables may sound good in an inexpensive system" my system is far from inexpensive, I have spent many years refining my system with some of the finest components on the market, Grover's wonderful...
Grover Huffman GH RCA ZX+ cables vs...
I couldn't disagree more with Sabai's statement that Huffman cables "lack of harmonics", to me this is their most endearing quality, they present natural harmonic richness and texture better than any other cable I've tried (I've tired many), they ...
TTW MOMENTUS MOMENTUS "The MONSTER" Rim Drive
I would be extremely concerned with resale value, with TTW models constantly changing, obsolescence will occur quickly. TTW pricing structure is questionable as well, determining retail and 'street' price could leave a deep hole in your pocket if ...
