Sony SCD-1 vs Krell for CD playback
I have had the liberty of listening to both in the same system (SCD-1 & KPS). I personally perfer the Krell assuming you are running cast through the KCT. However, if you're not running Cast the SCD-1 gives it a good run for less money.Happy L...
Dialectric grease any thoughts
There is a product called oxgard which is used for pigtailing aluminum wire in homes. Essentially, all it does is to keep the different metals being copper and aluminum from reacting to one another. The different metals would cause the other to ox...
Any problems using biwire cbls on single post Spkr
I've expirimented with audioquest forest in that manner. Although it won't hurt it doesn't yield any sonic benifits.
pure class A?
Thanks for the responses. I have a little bit of a back ground in electricity. So, I believe I have a pretty good grasp of what you're saying. Thanks again,Damon
PS Audio's Ultimate Outlet
I currently own one for my Pre/amp and am ordering another for my cd player. I will admit the sonic improvements are subtle. However, it does provide surge protection and unlike many other similar products it doesn't seem to compress dynamics.
Wife stepping on speaker wire
If you try most of these suggestions you'll end up divorced like the one guy. From a woman's point of view she's probably trying to get you to hide them. Wires or cables being visible on the floor looks horrible reguardless of how nice they look. ...
Where to buy 12v trigger cable?
Just tell them that you need a cable like are used on headphones just with two male ends.
Opinions on Marantz SA1 SACD CD Player
The sa-1 is discontinued. However, from what I've read on this site it is an excillent sounding sacd/cd player. You can usully find them here from 3500-$4000.

Definitive Technology
I had a pair of BP2002s then traded them in on a pair of BP2002tls. That proved to be a mistake. The TL has a very pronounced mid-bass hump that I couldn't overcome. They also don't have the bass extention of the earlier models.Don't get me wrong ...

Celtic66 it's nice to see someone is trying to pick up the slack now that Cornfedboy is gone. But don't worry in time it will all pass.
What's your profession? Age?
I am a letter carrier for the United States Postal service. My system retails for about 28K. MY wife gets the new car and I get upgrades.
Hum noise.
I beleive what ncarve was trying to elplane is that if you use a 75 ohm to 300ohm adapter and back again (75>300>75) it will break your ground loop and eliminate the hum.
Recessed/Weak Midrange Problem -- Help
Budrew I personally am not an expert. However, you might also want to mention the cables your using. Although it sounds like a problem with placement it could (possibly) have something to do with system synergy.
Incorrect speaker cable connection can damage amp?
No, you didn't damage you amp. Unless you have a connection from b+ to b- (between the positive to the negative) no current can flow, hence the lack of sound. Thus, it can have no effect on your amp.Damon
