I'm highly interested in the Lore. Any more opinions on this speaker from recent buyers?
Zman -can't wait to hear about your impressions of the Lore. Congrats on your new speakers.
Glad to hear about your favorable first impression of the Lore. Sounds like they broke in quite fast. Happy to hear about the good bass response. A 10 inch drive and ported cabinet of that size should do bass well and it sounds like it does! How's that treble with the bottom mounted tweeter? Are they placement fussy? What color did you go for? How's the fit and finish? I'd likely get mine with grilles due to kids....did you get the grilles?
I see these are a front ported design and I can only have my speakers out a maximum of 12-18 inches from the wall. Will the Lore's still sound acceptable in this position? My current speakers are Vandersteen 1C's.

My tube amp passes through hum on the Vandy's...90db efficient...that is readily discernible without the volume turned up. Will the 98 db efficient Lore's just magnify this artifact to distracting levels?
Thanks guys for the helpful info on the Lore's.I will likely order very soon!

Saki -I've emailed Eric a lot and always get a response in 24-48 hours and usually sooner.
I'm going to be ordering my Lore's in the next week or two and am wondering what types of amps or integrated amps, tube or SS, are optimal for the Lore. I currently have a Rogue 90 amp and Krell KSA 50S amp. My preamp is an Eastern Electric Minimax and I just bought the Lightspeed attenuator to try.If I have 2K used in my amp/pre setup how would that money be better spent to find an optimum amp/pre for the Lore's?
Zman - read the same thread as you and therefore ordered a NAD BEE 565. My BEE is coming tomorrow. Just ordered the Lore's, actually a buddy bought them for me, yeah! It will be interesting to hear from fellow Lore owners as to what hardware and cabling choices make them sing.
Just hooked up my Lores today. I do notice a change in soundstage when listening while standing and with the top driver at ear level. What are you guys doing to raise this speaker up? I listen alot just standing around. I don't want to put them on a pedestal. Does Eric have a longer spike for the front spike holes?
Sebrof,
My current speakers are the overacheiving Vandersteen 1c's.They use the nut and screw method to provide tilt back....don't know why I didn't think in that direction, glad you did. Thanks Gpowered for the other tilt option.

The Lores seem to change sound character more than the 1c with a change in vertical listening position. Tilt back should help.

As an aside, I really like the sound of these speakers. The midrange is detailed yet non fatigueing. A gem of a speaker and worth the high praise I've seen.
Wonderful last post Socrates. I'm just a Lore owner and have been very happy with the sound I'm getting. Wondering if a more detailed DAC might force more detail into these full range drivers? Or are they just not capable of presenting detail?
Wondering if anyone is using Morrow interconnects with their Lore's. I find particularly good synergy between the two in my system compared to the two other interconnects that are my usual references. The Morrow's are fast and compliment the Lore's potential speed. They restore some "audiophile detail" to the Lore's. A pleasant surprise being that I almost put them up for sale 2 months ago because they were 3rd best with my Vandy speakers.
