Peter Ledermann at Soundsmith used to repair ARC stuff-he recapped and retubed a Dual 75a that I’ve owned since new. It is now due for another go-over (haven’t had it running for more than a decade but still).

I found a local guy, Atomic Tube here in Austin, whose main focus is antiquarian gear but he can repair pretty much anything tube-related. I hate shipping this stuff- much prefer to drop it off personally.

When Lamm was still in NY and I lived there, same drill. We’d drive the equipment to him and usually, turn around by Vlad (RIP) was very quick.

Bill Thalmann (also RIP) was great- I dropped off a car load of gear for him to restore back in 2017.

I agree about location- if you can find someone good who is local, you may be better off. You hear horror stories about some repair services, but I’ve never had a problem.

Me in Northern New Jersey we can fix, repair, upgrade, rebuilt any audio component. We invite everyone to our listening room to hear so many options. My partner has a masters degree in electronic design and we build our own components.  Been doing this for over 25+ years. Should have our own components at Audio Connection soon.

The late Brent Mullin of HiFi Heaven was really great, too. A terrible loss of superb talent and knowledge in the last few years! I knew several of these guys and miss them. Happy to see bigkidz in the game!

In response to your reference to location I live in Traverse City, Michigan about 25,000 in population but I do get into metro Detroit every few weeks in the summer.

In the PNW there is a great shop in Gig Harbor (near Tacoma) that repairs high end components. called Gig Harbor Audio . I've had them repair and recap several Krell components and they do an excellent job.

Another vote for Morris at George Meyer in LA.  Honest, straight forward, good guy.  Has nine repair stations and has been able to turn repairs around in under six weeks.

Great service, quick turn around. I’ve had repairs and upgrades done by them. Not just always satisfied, but pleasantly surprised by the new sound I get out of my vintage equipment with their very reasonably priced upgrades. I ship my well packed pieces to them, they ship them back.

Ft. Worth Audio Repair closed (Sun/Mon) I first met Ottis and Len in 1982 where they ran the repair shop for Marvin Electronics. They stay pretty backed up but moved to a larger location ĺast summer. Maybe that isn't such a good thing ?

@waytoomuchstuff - we get around 20 items in a month to repair, upgrade, rebuild, etc.  Many reviewers and dealerships send us item to fix, repair.  Our own components should be at Audio Connectoin in Verona NJ very soon.  They were completely floored but what we demonstrated their last month.

I know this looks like an ad but it isn't. 

He brought my Yamaha M-80 back to life for me. A no B/S experience and fast turn around. He's located in the St. Louis metro area.

If your close to New Orleans area Digital Rehab can work on about anything. They were Wilson audio in New Orleans for 40 years but downsized and moved across the lake to Slidell. They were Audio Research repair center and dealer. I would rather drive tube gear or turntables to be fixed than shipped. He will fix it while you wait for a extra fee if you like.

Another thumbs up for George Meyer in LA. I am able to drive there and have spent quite a bit of time talking vintage Mac gear and required maintenance. Expensive and worth it. Much more expensive to have repairs of repairs..
