Tidal Speakers owners

Could you please write your impressions about the Tidal speakers you currently own ? I will probably buy the Tidal Piano Cera in the near future so I would appreciate your feedback...

Ciro71 with the right associated equipment Tidals Sound pretty much like "nothing at all"! To my ears the Maestros sound artificially "thicker" in all regions! Tidals sound more elegant, less distorted I don't know how else to explain!

Tbg my comment was more close to a "Joke" than an actual comment, sorry if it was not clearly understood.

In any case the Sunray is....the Sunray!

Neutral means one single thing and ONLY: What is written in the source material. Period
Hello Maceear!

Excellent description of the Tidal sound. What you mention about music sounding slow is something I have noticed so many times with my Piano Cera. But at the end of the day it is just real sounding, satisfying and engaging.

Mike
I heard the Sunray for about an hour last year in Munich accompanied with Tidal electronics. I also heard it at a friend who lives close but together with the external crossover and 4 Sovereign Eternity amplifiers with orpheus heritage dac and full Argento Flow master reference cables. A sound to die for! LIVE!

Mike
Quanmer, I have extensive experience with the Tidal Preos preamplifier that I have heard many times in a system I know and limited experience with Tidal power amplifiers that I only heard the last two years in Munich. The Tidal preamplfiers are absolutely world class. They are exactly from the same camp as their speakers, the pursuit of as limited character of their own as possible. I could say the same about their power amps.

Roysen the synergy between Tidal Speakers and Sovereign electronics are absolutely world class. I would say that the Sovereigns are just a small tad warmer than the Tidals! You cannot go wrong with either of them!

I agree completely, of course I mean the whole system, in which though the speaker has the edge in contributing to the systems sound. THANKS
Jorn described neutrality very well. I would add that your system should react accordingly to different recordings as well as equipment. If every recording sounds unique you are in the right path...Or vice versa, the common sound attributes you identify between different recordings is your system's character. ;)

Guys there are many other things except the sensitivity rating that determine how easy is to drive a speaker. For example the diameter of the drivers, the impedance of the speaker on the whole frequency range as well as the power supply of the amplifier. You cannot estimate sensitivity the way you try to.

Τbg 6db equals with double the acoustic pressure, thus two times as loud.

I think that Tidals have such an undistorted sound that cracking up the volume seems much more comfortable than with other speakers.

Hello Maceear,

in argento-organic cables there is no silver sound or copper sound, you do not understand anything in the sound that has to do with the material as in other cables. The Organic is better than the Serenity, I would go for the organic.

The bass of the Contriva is lightning fast and with excellent extension! However I seriously doubt that 50W can do it justice! I have heard the Contrivas with the Wavac 833 150W and it didn't do justice to this speaker!

Just my 2 cents.

Calloway i dont disagree that the Grail "can easily drive them" as you say, i Just say that this speaker needs power and a SET amp will never do them justice in terms of drive! They can be magic, but they are not driven in their full potential! I think we do not disagree on this!

Mike
So Calloway you tell me that the Chaliche amps can DRIVE the Contriva better than the Tidal monoblocks. by the way i didnt characterize you my friend we just share opinions here, you have yours I have mine! ive been listening to the Contriva the last 4 years, with a dozen of amps and I am pretty sure I know what this speaker needs. Actually you never understand when a speaker is underdriven until you hear it properly driven!

Just my 2 cents!
Focalfan what is your opinion on the Sunrays? Have you heard them and if so what where your impressions?
Congratulations, you made a great choice!

I only use Computer Audio by the way!

Adstew I would suggest a Sovereign amplifier either the Power or the Glory if you can afford it! Great synergy, doesnt sound like tube or solid state! I have heard many Tidal systems with different Sovereign amps, as the distributor is the same in my country, and I can assure you you wont be dissapointed!

If I am not mistaken the Tidal Piano x-tender will have side firing woofers!?!

Happy Listening all,

Jorn implies, if I am not mistaken, that black drivers are a tad better. I dont know how much though and under what optimum circumstances this is noticable. Owners of speakears with white drivers can upgrade at a cost around 2000$.
Congrats George, just try the Argento FLOW of FLOW Master References before paying for any other cable. They are very neutral thus a great match with Tidal Speakers.
