TADAC question remote control issue

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I recently purchased a TADAC which has the remote volume feature (Philips brand remote). The gentleman from whom I bought it had not ever used the remote and did not sync it up. He is not in possession of the code to get it to work (sync) -- he did provide the instructions of the sequence of buttons to depress -- just not the code -- 4 digit. Now that Paul has passed, I am unsure of how to obtain this information. Anyone know the "code" to sync up the remote control to the TADAC? Or maybe it is way simpler? Thanks in advance.
