Preamp advice

I'm considering a preamp change. I'm thinking about a used ss preamp. I'm looking for something under $1000 that is very detailed and has a very low noise floor. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help,

Eben.

These are very hard to come by used, but is exactly the unit your looking for.

BV Audio P10 or P1 preamp. Sounds fantastic and very, very quiet. I think they are $1500-$1700 new.

Hi -
You didn't mention if you need a vinyl input, but I'd highly recommend any of the later Audio Van Alstine preamps. Either solid state or hybrid models will sound great. Highly underrated & great value. Also extremely versatile - plenty of inputs & outputs. I've seen a few of them recently for less than a grand. Hard to beat.

Good luck,
Ed
If you are lucky, you can find a used Reference Line Preeminence active preamp. This is by far the best solid state pre-amp I have ever heard and if you can find them on the used market they go for a little over $1000. You are essentially getting Conrad Johnson ART or Mark Levinson Reference performance for like 1/15 the cost.

LOLOLOL That's one of the funniest posts I've read here. Great stuff!!!
ESTRONG, You might want to consider the S-33 preamp by Kavent.. It runs about $1199.00 new and sounds great for the money. Me and 3 others did have the chance to hear the difference between the S-33 and the X-1 Pass labs preamp and all agreed we thought the S-33 sounded a little better overall.. There will always be matter of option , but we all thought it did sound a little more impressive..
Good luck on your search,
Dave
