A Newbie's First Week Impressions -- Vinyl Rules
Have fun. It only gets more expensive from here.I had the MMF-5 for about 3 weeks before I upgraded to a Scout. If you want to see what Vinyl can REALLY do...well...it's a slippery slope, That's all I can say.Invest in a 16.5. You'll save money on...
K&K phono stage
Without question worth 2X what he's charging for it.I bought the kit a few years ago and built it in a weekend. It was a lot of fun, and sounded a LOT better than anything else I'd ever tried. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat for sure.
VPI Scout vs. HW 19
Just keeping everyone in the loop...I bought a VPI Scout w and Aries 2 platter, JMW-9 Arm, and a Clearaudio Aurum Beta-S Wood cart. There are a few other mods to the table, but I'm sure it'll sound great. I spent about 2X what I was hoping to, but...
A Newbie's First Week Impressions -- Vinyl Rules
I considered the 16.5 an investment. I can pick up records for $4 that sound better than a $20 CD, so why not make sure that it won't mess up my cartridge, and will sound perfect every time. That's what a good record cleaning machine is all about ...
VPI Scout vs. HW 19
I'm thinking I'll just honker down and look for a Scout. By the time I outfit a Mk IV with everything I want, I'll have the same money into it.My last Scout was a real peach. I LOVE the JMW-9, so that'd be the first upgrade on a MkIV...so that's w...
VPI Scout vs. HW 19
This is going to be for my office system. I realized a few weeks ago that I've got a 10,000 rig at the house that gets 4-5 hours of use a week, and a 2,000 rig at the office that I sure 60hrs a week. We're moving in a month, and my new office is b...
BAT VK60 or Conrad Johnson MV60?
Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. The addition of the ballanced input would let me run the Wadia right into it...which would be cool...
Wadia Factory tour
I'm on my 3rd Wadia rig since becoming an 'audiophile' a few years ago. I started with the 12 DAC, then an 8/15 combo and now I'm up to a modifies 850 CD Player. I'll tell you that I'll NEVER own anyone elses digital hardware in my main system. yo...
Review: Audio Experience Music MK3 Tube preamp
This was my first "real" preamp a few months ago. After thinking I needed to spend googles of money on a new preamp, I kept going back to the MK3. I've lent it to friends and everyone returns it going "You paid HOW much for this?" It's worth twice...
