Pass INT-150 or Bryston b135 sst^2?
In a smaller room, I have been enjoying the SHL5+ with Red Wine Audio 30.2 LFP-V and Isabella preamp.  The 30.2 alone is very good but adding the preamp made for a more expansive sound stage and also more texture for the individual instruments, IM...
LFD vs Audible Illusions/ Belles 150 A reference
I'm not too far off of this so I will respond. I had an LFD Zero III with Harbeth speakers. When I made a speaker change and switched over to Totem Mani's, I needed a lot more power. I went to Belles 350A Reference. I have used a Herron VTSP-1A pr...
Ayre, wow
I have Mani-2 signatures. My power amp is Belles 350A and preamp is Herron VTSP-1A. Thus far this has been my best combination yet. The Herron and Belles are both really good at getting out of the way of the music. The Belles also has enough curre...
LFD Integrated Zero MK III
I wanted to add, I have the LFD Integrated Zero MK III and Harbeth SHL5s. Fantastic amp! What everyone else said above... Also worked well with my previous Gallo Ref 3.1s, but was just enough power (would have liked a little more). Now comparing t...
Anyone tried Soundlab Dynastats out of phase?
I know this thread is a few years old, but I thought I would add that I experimented with the same thing you did, but with Apogee Duetta IIs. I experimented with connecting the Bass and MRT ribbons in phase and out of phase. Like you - out of phas...
Tube amps under 1,800 for gallo 3.1's
I thought I would add in that I am using a PS Audio GCC-250 as a power amp and a Rowland Consonance preamp. Tried several tube preamps --- but that Rowland is a really nice synergy with the Gallo 3.1's and the class D PS Audio. I was looking to op...
PS Audio GCC-250 - how to take it to "musicality"
Update: I added a Jeff Rowland Consonance preamp to the PS Audio GCC-250. This has done a lot for me. The soundstage is improved in both width and depth. And the instruments have a lot of air around them and I can hear them distinctly. The midrang...
PS Audio GCC-250 - how to take it to "musicality"
Krell1: Let me give you some more info - I am using a Benchmark DAC (unmodified) and an ok (not great) Thorens turntable with a Grado phono preamp. Also I am using Nordost Red Dawn Rev ii for both speaker cables and XLR/RCA interconnects. Thanks f...
PS Audio GCC-250 - how to take it to "musicality"
Thanks Hifiman5 - trying some footers would probably be a no regrets idea no matter what I do. I appreciate that!
Class D amps, bang for your buck ones
I 2nd PS Audio GCC-250. I am using it with Gallos Reference 3.1 speakers. These are pretty inexpensive now on the used market. I am very pleased with it.
Bi-amp vs Bi-wire ohm question???
If the speaker is rated at 8 ohm - that should mean that by Ohms law, that the high and low should have a resistance of about 16 ohm each. When you parallel them, like strapping the hi's and low's together to run with one set of wires - it becomes...
cables for apogee duetta II
I have Duetta II, Mk II - I use Nordost Blue Heaven, and like the combination. I am using an active crossover.
