Inexpensive All-In-One Solutions
HTIB from Panny, Sammy or Pioneer is probably the way to go. AVR, Blu-Ray, cables and speakers in one box. Some are even wireless. I've toyed with them in the past under different circumstances. AVS forum has threads on these.
How much should I pay for a 2001 Thiel CS 3.6?
I'm an NAD fanboi but you are better off with a MUCH MUCH higher power amp and upgrading to a more refined high power amp in the future. Some of the Adcom 555/5500 series will get you a lot further than a new shiny 80 wpc NAD. Reason I say this is...
Where's the trade off?
If the warm up time bothers you and you were happy before you made the switch you are not a tube guy. I've had both, have loved both but am solid state (NAD, no less) now. Either a c370 or newer or one of the other options mentioned above will pro...
The best integrated amp for Klipsch Heresy
Just let go of an NAD 326BEE that matched beautifully with my Forte's. I'm going into separates but for the coin it was a tremendous match. At a higher price point, nobody complains about McIntosh with Klipsch heritage speakers.

Does the NAD 326 Bee Integrated amp run hot
I've had mine a few months running Klipsch forte's. It runs warm, but not hot. And it sounds great.
Upgrading the 326BEE
I've perused the forums over at Ecoustics and they also are mostly of the opinion that the preamp is the weak link in the 32xBEE series. Interestingly, with the 272/372, NAD claims that the preamp section is class A. This claim has not been made f...
Upgrading the 326BEE
Scott, thank you for your observations. I looked at all three of the models you mentioned and when a 326 came up on CL I jumped on it. It does not surprise me that the preamp can make a major difference with this amp. While I am really pleased wit...
Table radio options for kids room
I've had a Tivoli model 1 for about 10 years. Its tone is very smooth, and it is great for casual/background listening. It is limited in its frequency range, although corner placement can help that somewhat. Has been absolutely rock solid and has ...
Klipsch forte II what league are they in?
I own Forte I's,bought last summer on CL for peanuts. For me, they are a one way ticket from audiophilia. Now I don't listen to the gear and wonder how it would sound if.... Instead, I spin the tunes and relax into in the music. It really is a nic...
Help setting up Airport Exposes
Thanks for the added info. Nice to learn Itunes doesn't make a lot of demands. In my neck of the woods CL has tons of 2_3 year old laptops for practically free. One of them should be able to do the trick.
Help setting up Airport Exposes
Kjweisener,You answered my question exactly, thank you. It looks like I will have to run a PC to make it work. It would have been nice if that wasn't necessary. What minimum specs do you recommend for the PC? Right now I'm running a netbook on XP ...
Apple TV without TV
kbarkamian,We seem to agree on a lot. Google, or other cloud storage, looks promising. The rub is that the music industry is preparing for a fight over its licensing. Also, I'm not thrilled with the prospect of paying to store the music I've paid ...
ATV2: music with no Dac?
Thanks.
Apple TV without TV
Kbarkamian, I'm pretty fond of Andriod so not sure if iTouch would provide a lot extra for me. Advantage of ATV: built in HD, so no streaming. Advantages of SB Touch: Hi Res capable, runs from Android phone. Yesterday, Google announced their new b...
