Strange Tonearm Tweak. Long
Has anyone tried and listened to differences. I would prefer to use tungsten bullet weights instead of lead due to toxity of the latter.Any sound difference?Roger
Eastern Electric Minimax preamp
The EE Minimax replaced a very competent Audible Illusions M3A in my system. With my current tube compliment - Tungsol 6x4w, Valvo (Philips rebadge) E80CC, and a cyrogenically treated Mullard 12AU7 (CV4003) box plate w/ square getter - this is one...
Superphon being resurrected

Usher Audio's S-520
I bought a pair of the 520's for my sons first system about 1 1/2 years ago. It is paired with a Sharp EX-SD111 AM/FM/CE all in one unit. If you want to take them to the next level, Bill Baker of Response Audio provides a relatively inexpensive up...
Interspace synergy
I think it depends a little on your choice of cartridge. In listening to both, I prefered a modified Rega arm (Incognito or Orgin Live) to the Nottingham interspace arm. A slightly bolder presentation with my Dynavector 10X5 cartridge.
What will drive the Vandersteen 1 C?
Any of these will do just fine. The new Jungson 88-C is another good solid state option. Many people prefer Vandy's with tube sources. The Jolida 1501-RC combination sounds very good, this is a hydrid tube-solid state design. You also might want to...
Set up for Vandy 2CE sigs
Wrayman,The Vandersteen owners manual has pretty straight foward speaker positioning directions. Follow them carefully. Speakers need to be located away from rear and side walls a good distance, it takes a little time to find the perfect spot. The...
VenHaus Pulsar™ interconnects
A winner indeed! I have had Chris's Pulsar cables in my system for almost two months. They sound great. Just picked up another pair of interconnects to finish my two-channel system and a digital cable for my brothers new HT system. Highly recommen...
Shelter 501 Mk 2 vs. Dynavector Karat 17D2 Mk2
There is a review of the Dynavector P-75 phono preamp in the current edition of HiFI+. I use am using a Nottingham Interspace w/ fully modified Rega RB300 arm and Incognito (Cardas) wiring harness w/ Dynavector 10X4mkII cartridge, in combination w...
VenHaus Pulsar™ interconnects
Here is a follow-up on my Pulsar interconnects, posted on Audio Circle. I thought you might be interested."I swapped out my Audience Conductor IC's for Chris VanHaus (VH Audio) Pulsars about two weeks ago. A 1M pair between my Pioneer PD-65 and Ea...
VenHaus Pulsar™ interconnects
I just received a pair of PULSAR IC's and a PULSAR digital cable from Chris VenHaus. While I have had them in my system for less than one day, I was immediately impressed with increased dynamics and very clean sound, this running from my CDP direc...
New Teres Pictures
Joe - Super Teres and quality workmanship. Chris Brady would be proud. Nice photo's btw, what digital camera did you use?Roger
Review: Argent Audio Pursang Interconnect
Hawaiikid,Thank you for your insightful review of Ric Cummins Pursang cabling. Ric has developed a very faithful following. Comments here and on Audio Asylum seem to indicate many have achieved the elusive "sonic nirvana" by deploying Pursang IC's...
Room Placement on Vandersteen 3A Sig's?
Vandy's are sensitive to room placement. The owners manual provides clear information on placement based on room geometry. I have a pair of Vandy 2ce signatures in a 13.5'x 15'5 room, placed against the short wall. I found the best sound with my s...
Bryston VS Odyssey
I compared the Odyssey stratos stereo amp side by side with the 3B ST and 4B ST last year, not the newer SST models. I preferred the Odyssey - deeper, tighter bass, no grainy treble, a much better amp IMHO - and less expensive. Klaus Bunge also wi...
