What is the VERY BEST CD album you've ever heard?
Paul Simon's 1991 "Concert In The Park".  One of the best live recordings I have heard.  Highly recommended.  Jerry Harrison: Casual God's.  Fantastic.  Anything by Jennifer Warnes.
What should my heirs do to dispose of my vinyl and CDs?
@timintexas, you read my mind. I have one foot in audiophilia, and the other in ham radio. 60 some years in audio, and 61 in radio.  My 70 foot tower and beam antennas are my main concern.  Removing them is not a chore I want to leave to my Bride....

OP, if you have to ask the question, you have answered it.  Good luck.

Dropouts From Server
Sorry, been away from the computer.  Let me answer some of the questions.  I replaced the NAS box because the failed drive died from a thermal failure.  The NAS fan failed, and the drive failed thereafter.  The new box is an upgraded version of th...
Constant noisy tubes maybe go solid state?
I worked with tubes for 20 years in the late 60's and into the 80's. Granted, the applications were in communications, a field not ruled by feelings and subjective "I can hear a difference" consensus, but by how the equipment functioned, and, God ...

Thinking about the good old days...
@mrmb what Halliscratcher did you have? I had a S-120 that I used as a young ham until I got a National NC-125 with a Central Electronics Sideband Slicer. That was deadly. I joined the Columbia Record Club in my last year of High School. One recor...
What's Your Advice, Used Audio Research LS15, Or Freya+?
Just want to thank all who responded, here and by PM. The input is greatly appreciated. I found and purchased a very late model LS15 with all of the upgraded caps, the power supply, and the detachable power cord. Looks very nice from the pictures....
What's Your Advice, Used Audio Research LS15, Or Freya+?
Thanks to all for their thoughts. One more question. I am looking at two very nice LS15's. The first is an older model with the attached power cord. The second one is a very late model with the detachable power cord and various ARC improvements. T...
What's Your Advice, Used Audio Research LS15, Or Freya+?
Jetter, you hit it on the head. My thinking is, am I better to go with a 15 (or more) year old ARC preamp, or a new Schitt Freya+. I really don't know. Thus the post. I have heard neither, and am going off of online reviews. Certainly a First Worl...
