Advice please
Yes..ground loop. Unplug attatched components until you find the culprit...then try cheater plugs to break ground to one of the components(possibly the one causing hum)..Try moving cables and wires around...you'll solve it! Hang in there... 
Looking for recommendation for H/T preamp/pros.
Of the above, the Act 3, then The chiro(second by a narrower margin to the act 3 than 2nd is to 3rd)), then the B&K Ref 20 is last. I've experience with all of them. Good luck

To RIVES' response regarding Russ H. of Stereophile HT magazine, If I'm not mistaken, that guy has done a tremendous amount of smaller custom high end home theaters for residential! Infact I believe he's done some of the better more well documment...
