Used speakers: Cleaning tips?
The Pledge Dust and Allergen Cloths are no longer being made. I used them for as long as this thread has existed. I'm now on my last pack. What alternatives exist today that do the same job?

Why so many used focals?
It's quite difficult to draw too many definitive conclusions about why products from a particular brand might be sold at a given time on the used market. People don't possess the same ears. If they did, there would be only one brand for sale. When...
Is the Last Record Preservative system a worthwhile investment?
My experience with Last initially was not good. I found it really deadened the sound, the dynamics of the recordings. It seemed to make them a lot darker. I was cleaning the older records I had purchased more recently and that had surface noise. I...
if I buy an ultrasonic cleaner for my records will I be able to hear the difference?
I own the V-8 and it certainly does improve the sound of records. It opens them up considerably. But as I've posted elsewhere, the GEM Dandy Record Cleaner did a considerably better job for a far more significant drop in price. For older and damag...
Wet Cleaning records makes things worse?
I've used the Nitty Gritty record cleaner with pretty good results. I eventually sold it because it was manual and replaced it with a Hanss record cleaner, which is the same product but with a different color being sold by Music Hall in the US. I ...

OK. Here's the email I received from the representative of the company:"thank you very much for your inquiry. Our records are being pressed since more than 20 years at Pallas in Diepholz (Germany), no exception. Although our productions feature b...

Thanks whart. That's a highly informative post. I don't believe I read anything about Clarity vinyl, but that's also quite interesting and I'm surprised that manufacturers haven't followed up on it. I have to wonder though if a mold release agent ...

Do I believe in dust and dirt? What is this? The Interfaith Council on Faith in Reality? I simply reported that Speakers Corner stated that Pallas doesn't use mold release compound, so the necessity of cleaning is obviated for those who would othe...

I haven't yet compared to any originals I own. As for now, I have the two Weather Report discs, the Mahalia Jackson at Newport, and the few releases of Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins. I don't plan on cleaning them unless I hear a reason to do so ...

He's still around and doing work. The problem has been his email account. He didn't get several of my emails and I didn't get one of his. If you need to contact Chris, call him on the phone instead. He's looking into his email problems and was sur...
