Legacy Audio I-V2 anyone?
Here's that review: Legacy Audio i.V4 Ultra Review
No love for Legacy Audio
I've heard plenty of highly reviewed product sound bad at shows. Best sound at shows is more often than not the set up skills of the exhibitor much more than the components or system themselves. Just ask Jim Smith, one of the best system set up gu...
DH Labs power cables
DH Labs has made high value, excellent cables for decades. They fly under the radar due to no marketing or review chasing. Keeps the cost down. I'm not surprised with your results.
The best plug in filter ever!
I recently received a pair of Purons to try out on my main stereo. I honestly was not expecting to hear a difference as I'm using a full Puritan system (PSM156, Ultimate power cord, GroundMaster, RouteMater, 10AWG dedicated line, Environmental Pot...
Any love for the Gentalex Gold Lion 12ax7 gold pin?
The JJ E83CC/12AX7 frame grid is my favorite current production 12AX7 at about half the price of the Gold Lion. A number of other folks have said the same. The Gold Lion is okay but not great and overpriced for what you get IMHO. JJ E83CC/12AX7
No love for Legacy Audio
I agree on Legacy's veneering. I was once able compare the finish on a pair of entry level Legacy HD Studio monitors to a $41k pair of speakers I will not name. The Legacy finish was much nicer.
Recommend me a DAC under 3k
I have a modified ANK L5 Mentor that I built driving an active pair of ATC SCM50ASLT speakers. I use and very much like a modified ANK 4.1x DAC that I also built, so that would be my recommendation. I run fiber from a highly optimized network to a...
Gustard R26 - good but not the one
No I didn't. The unit I borrowed had the updates installed. Since you invested in the R26, invest some time and work your way through that discussion. You will find the step by step answers to all your questions there. Yes, the Gustard instruction...
Gustard R26 - good but not the one
@tksteingraber You're welcome. The thread I referenced will answer that question and more. The OP did a great job updating findings from the thread on the first page.
Gustard R26 - good but not the one
Most folks, myself included when I borrowed a well broken-in unit from a friend, prefer the sound quality using the LAN input. I also have a Zen Stream and preferred going directly into the R26; less finicky and slightly better sound quality. Make...
Gustard R26 - good but not the one
@tiggerfc is correct. Even if you ran it 24/7 for three days, you are nowhere close to stable and final sound quality for the R26. I've owned the Quest with a very good linear supply and I've had a well broken R26 in house connected directly to wi...
Pass Labs 1st Watt Rundown
I agree that the diyaudio site is fantastic for folks like me that enjoy building stuff or folks that are thinking about it. I'm finishing up a F5 stereo amp and look forward to pairing it with my Fyne F703 speakers. diyaudio.com Pass Labs Threads
KLaudio or Degritter Mark II
As it should be at over eight times the cost (Degritter vs HumminGuru). Here's a useful thread on the HumminGuru: HumminGuru Use Tips

Power conditioners and power regeneration
Power regeneration is generally expensive and runs hot. Some folks like the results, others don't. This reviewer has used both regeneration and filtration. You might find it interesting. Puritan PSM156 vs PS Audio P20 Regenerator
