 the hiss is normal for amps of that caliber. it could be a pre tube but i doubt it. your tweeter is in no danger unless you overdrive the amp and even then i doubt it would be blown. not sure if that jolida is amp enough for those speakers to sta...

kalali, it was a fairly reasonable time. the guy gets them from asia but quickly. maybe 3 weeks if i recalll. very well packed and solidly built. bigger than it looks

musicalparadise.ca has some amps to consider. buy direct from manufacturer. I enjoy my 400$ set amp daily. not sure if its enough juice for you tho but they have others

So I listen to 12' full range drivers, open baffles, with a supertweeter. Recently added a sub for last octave re enforcement. I must say I find it amusing when people comment that 8 or 10" drivers dont do well in the midrange. Perhaps some design... 
Looking for speakers under 30" tall.
why do you think short towers are going to give better sound at that height than monitors> i see no logic in that. off axis response is the same whether the tweeter is in a small box or tall box...is that the worry? maybe i missed something but...

Frankly I am amazed more open  baffle designs are not in systems everywhere. There is no going back when you lose the box unless you spend big dollars. Nice review!

So what i really was looking for was how, physically, sound waves can appear to be originating from outside the width of the transducers. i can imagine with an electrostat... but in phase or not, how does the wave(?) appear to come from  a differe...

maybe, but may who have very top notch speakers still seem to indicate the supertweeter adds something. hey, i am not listening to magicos with a pass labs amp so.....

great response(s). I have ordered an entry level pair of fostex supers to add to my full range unit which drops off at 15khz. i wont know what i am missing until i hear what is not there i figure. thanks for the knowledge
